    Hello everyone.

I'm new to softmodding and already having trouble.

I attempted to softmod my 4.3U Wii using the tutorial here (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html). I downloaded the 'Letterbomb' file.

I followed the instructions to the T, but when it came to Step 2, my Wii remote would not sync. The remote will sync fine in the normal Wii menus, but when I launch BootMii from the HomeBrew channel, I lose my sync.

Any suggestions? I already tried re-syncing with the red buttons, but no luck.

    Thanks for any help.

    Mark

Sounds as though you may think you followed the guide to the letter, the results say otherwise. Losing sync usually means no cIOS. Did you use the recommended SD card (Sandisk 2gb)? Did you watch for errors relating to all those wad installs? Did you hashcheck/md5 the values of the wads to verify their integrity before using MMM to install them?

I used a generic 512mb SD disk I had laying around. I have a lot of 8gb microSD's with adaptor, but didn't use any of them. I didn't notice any errors during install. I'm not sure what you mean by hashchecking md5 values either....

Nightstah was referring to running the md5summer.exe as instructed.

Ok. I downloaded md5summer and got all green, meaning 'OK.' Still not able to use the Wii remote after I click BootMii in the Homebrew Channel. It loads the BootMii menus, but no controller.

I got a question. Why am I installing 4.1 System Menu if I'm on 4.3U?

The wimmote isn't supposed to work in bootmii.

4.1 has the ability to play backups if your drive is capable and also allows bannerbomb to be run again if needed.

@vaporhead - Where exactly are you on the guide again? You said step 2 but where exactly again?

Basically, I'm on 4.3U right now and following the Letterbomb exploit hack. After I finished with the Letterbomb spoiler I went to the next step at the end of the next step it says I should install 4.1 System Menu. Does this mean it's downgrading me back to 4.1U or what exactly?

Edit: Should I just skip the 4.1 System Menu installation part and go to the third step?

It means it is taking you back to the last system menu that had any actual benefit for the user end. The other 2 were strictly to stop us from modifying our consoles.
