Did you make sure to remove all GC controllers, GC memory cards, USB devices? Are you using a 2gb or smaller SD card (Sandisk work best; SDHC generally won't work)? Did you format the card in FAT32 as opposed to FAT? Did you try the alternative formatter tool?

Nothing is plugged into the wii, or inserted. (Well besides the basic wii cables to power it of course, but no controllers, memory cards or usb devices.) I am using a 2GB Sandisk SD Card. I formated it into FAT32, but I'm not aware of the alternative formatter tool? I may of done it though, as I've been working on this all day. I've tried many many things, but I'm not sure about that. I'd like to try!

Please read the main thread/guide it is all in there and also states if hackmii installer hangs it could be because the card isn't formatted properly to fat32 or that you have selected the wrong region for your wii with letterbomb........ I'm sure I said to check the letterbomb spoiler out yesterday. You will find the formatting tool in there...

Interesting you say it was on 4.3U on a Korean cross-flashed unit --- this presents Error #003 bricks on anything above 4.1U on a Korean unit. If you followed the guide to the letter, it installed the IOS you mention. Stub IOS don't count, you're not removing an IOS but a stub (so long as you've verified it in fact is a stub).
    Thanks for your prompt answer...
    Please clarify the following.
1- Is DarkCorp recommended to install with the mod in this guide?
2- The IOS mentioned for Korean Wiis are part of the update process which I did not use , will it be OK if I installed these now , after I have done the full mod.
3- Kingston is the USB I am using its not the SD card and I think I saw it in the compatibility list, should I use Western Digital 240 GB HDD instead?
4- Is delete STUB IOS option in the MMM menu a safe option to remove stub IOSes ? Since I dont know which ones to remove.

    Thanks again

    1. We generally discourage DarkCorp. You'd have to have a full understanding of what it does and its limitations. Also, if your Wii is < 2 years old it'd be pointless any way (optical drive won't play backups if D3-2 or D4 PCB/drive inside your Wii).

    2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but your previous post seemed to say you've done this guide. Did you click on the spoiler "What this installs" in maui's tutorial? It shows the IOS you mention are installed.

    3. Because you say so? I'm not saying it is or isn't, but it seemed a reasonable place to start. We have a list of proven USB HD that are compatible with the Wii. It was posted by Favs and can be found on this site.

    4. If you've followed this guide, it handles it for you and makes it a non-issue. Your posts or replies are all over the map saying you have followed this guide, and you haven't done this guide yet. It's hard to answer you when you keep waffling on this point.

Thanks for you prompt reply nightstah, the spoiler you mention shows the IOSes but in the sd:\wad\IOS-Update\ directory which it mentioned in the guide as

"If you would like to update your wii ios- NOT needed for 4.3 wiis"

since my wii was already 4.3U I did not install these, it seems to me that I should install these as well (specially after reading the FAQ section) but my worries are
    1- Will it upgrade my SM to 4.3E ( currently 4.1E )?
2- Is it safe i.e having done the rest of the steps already is it ok to go back and just install the IOSes in the IOS-Update section.

I am able to play games off the DVD via Neogamma so would this mean I don't have the D3-2 or D4 PCB/drive in my wii?

    Thanks again
