First off thank you so much for this awesome, easy to follow guide. I have used it a bunch of times on 4.2U wii's and a couple of times on 4.3U wii's and it works perfect. But I ran into a little problem when I just did it to a new black 4.3u wii and wanted to share my problem and how I fixed it. I am by NO MEANS anywhere near an expert on any of this so please forgive my novice language and terms. Also if this has already been covered I apologize also. So what happened was after I modded with the guide for 4.3 and using USB Loader GX I noticed the wii was very slow loading games and froze on call of duty black opps. From having this problem before on older 4.2's I had to upgrade cios 249 to cIOS249wad[57]-v20.wad. BUT the cios249 was already version 21, after following some other suggestions I found on here with no luck, I decided to "downgrade" my cios to cIOS249[57]-v20.wad and believe it or not that fixed all the problems I was having, made the wii A LOT quicker loading and played all my games. I don't know how or why, I just know that it worked for me. But I suggest that before anyone follows what i did to check with Mauifrog or any of the other staff on here, these guys really know there stuff and sorry again if I'm covering something thats already been said or if I'm putting this in the wrong place.

Select the folder "System Menu 4.1" -press A
Never Uninstall IOS, or SM you will brick your wii
Never Uninstall IOS, or SM you will brick your wii
Press (1) to "Install all Wads" - Press A
3 wads should install without error
    "Press any button to continue"
Be sure all 3 wads install, very important
This installs a version patched SM, which I recommend. If this bothers you, don't do it.

Personally, I have skipped this step on a couple mods, especially those machines running SM 4.3

I have used this guide to now mod 2 wii's. A secondhand LAH1204 wii on 4.2e, and a Red wii on 4.3e.
The red wii (my second mod) went absolutely flawlessly using smash stack. No issues at all. Although I chose not to downgrade to 4.1, and didnt update IOS, or the shop channel (guide stated it wasnt needed for 4.3).

    But the first mod....
For this mod I followed the guide completely, including SM downgrade, CIOS pack, IOS update, and nintendo shop channel update.
After modding this wii, it will not turn off, not remotely or by pressing the power button, it has to be physically unplugged from the power to shut down. It no longer plays GC games, not from NeoGamma or the disc loader channel (the games are legit and not backups). But CFG USB Loader works perfectly.
(The GC games ran from the disc loader channel before I done the soft mod)

I am asking, should I redo the whole guide and see if this works? Or should I update to 4.3e, either from a game or online, then redo the hack, but skip the SM downgrade??
I have been scratching my head for awhile on this, and have tried looking through this thread, but so far no one has had these issues.

Thanks in advance - to anyone reading this.

Okay, so I finally go to the wii.
This was my method - and my results...
I updated BC and MIOS and set NeoGamma to load from MIOS. Backup disc channel now loads original GameCube games, but normal Disc channel will not (this doesn't bother me, as i got them to load one way).
So after alot of reading on which IOS's do what, I decided to do the following.... Reloaded IOS20, 30, 50, 60, 70, 80 With TB-ESi-NP patches, then installed SM4.3 then installed priiloader (of course) - this fixed the "will not power off" issue.
Then I updated all relevent channels, but that was a personal choice.
So now I have a wonderful softmod.
Thank you to those who gave me advice and ideas !!

    Hi

If I post my SysCheck log can someone take a look at my installed IOSes?

Having problems getting wii/gcn games to work. they don't want to load most of the time using neogamma.

why can't they just work on the first try?

They are probably either bad burns, bad disc, or a bad/dirty dvd drive.
