I felt the same way. But following the guide is the best.
Why do you think it is longer then the fail tube versions??
    You get so much more

I didnt think it was longer but you know the old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" holds even truer when your trying to relay information. I just like seeing someone do it so I know what to expect. I usually follow directions pretty good, kinda have to in my line of work, but sometimes the more information one gives the better chance it has to end in information overload. Guess I was just over thinking things with all that was written in the OP. That and the fact I'm also working on a Xbox 360 I think I'm just on info overload anyways. I stopped and picked up "lego Batman" so I will be giving it a go once the kids are asleep.

Thank you for the reply. I will post an outcome as soon as I can attack the wii (on my first day off, lol).

Its really more stressful thinking about doing it than just doing it(well, I was a little stressed while doing it to). One suggestion though, if you have them available to you, use several SD cards. 3 or 4(however many for the number of formats and transferes you need) would be best. I had only one that i could find and between DLing everthing and formatting it took me about an hour or so. Multipul SD cards and DLing everything before hand would have made the mod much easier and faster. Just keep them in order once you flash and extract the files to each one and you should be GTG. I used a PNY 2gig SD card and it worked great.
