Done with step 1 and am stuck on Step 2...

Is it just me or is this file not working?

    Download CIOS-PACK.zip

After I download it, it's unable to extract (I'm on a Mac, but it shouldn't matter right?). I was able to download the Mod pack and extract/unzip it with no issues.

Help, was hoping to get this finished tonight.

After a while the pointer in the patched 4.1 system menu seemed laggy and was extremely jittery. i already checked if i was not too far away from the sensor bar and tested the wii remote from all directions in my living room. The cursor was still laggy and jittery. sometimes in games i also notice this jitteryness/lag (SMG2, black ops, etc.) This never happened in 4.3u and i want to know if i can possibly fix this somehow. I know that i cant legitly update back to 4.3 or i will brick, is there a way to get around this pointer issue. any sort of help or advice from anyone would be awesome, thanks.
Since you have the issue in both the system menu and games the issue is not likely related to the system menu or cios since the two are unrelated. Try new batteries or another wiimote, reposition the sensor bar, dim lights, clean wiimote and sensor bar, eliminate external light behind sensor bar.

Guide: Softmod ANY Wii - newer game seems not to work

The Softmod works well thanks a lot.

Thought I notice there are many recent games that do not work, how do I make them work?
Here is one of many for instance that doesn't work:

Outside link removed, looked like it may have been sims3

Is it a problem of cIOS compatibility? how do I update it?
I try all the available cIOS with this sofmod and some recent games still do not work.

    thanks for your help

This guide is fully updated. You will have no issues running a fat32 formatted drive.

Unlike the MOD-PACK...zip, CIOS-PACK.zip is password protected (NOT-A-PIRATE). Maybe that's why you're having problems.

I have softmodded a 4.2U wii for my neighbor and passed this guide to another neighbor who successfully softmodded by the directions. Both have developed an issue with the DVD drive reading disks. Has anyone else had this issue? I know the wii that I softmodded was able to play burned disks intially. I am getting her wii back this weekend to do some diagnostics so any suggs would be welcome!!

Excellent guide as both myself and my neighbor successfully softmodded without issue (initially).

Tell them to load the discs through a disc loader channel from hbc or you can simply install the required ios's if needed for the games you're trying to play. I'm sure loading through a disc loader would solve it since you were able to play them to begin with
