Hey guys, I know "Pimp my Wii" is not recommended by wiihacks.com and I've read in wiisixtyfour.webs.com that the functions of Pimp my Wii are no more useful, but still there are many people saying the opposite and suggesting to run Pimp my Wii and after that update the Hermes cIOS to the Rodries cIOS.
I need a final word about that, or at least that somebody convinces me for going into one way or another.
Thank you so much again.

If you want rodries' hermes cios mod just run the installer no need for pmw.
Also, if u followed this guide, no need to run pmw or anything to update cios/ios. Everything is up to date

Your choice as to what you want to do. Heres the scoop on following the guides here:

For all those with 4.3 looking for a way to hack without an original game, hope is in sight.

I completed the guide very easily, Thanks maufrog! im having problems however backing up games on my wii. i have a my passport 500gb portable hard drive with ntfs format, i tried formatting it to fat32 an i am unable. i cant figure out how to install the usb gx channel. I don't need it however if i can use the usb loader that came with this mod to work for me. when i select install game with any game it will say ntfs write disabled. thanks for any help and i apologize for what is most likely a noob question.

This is not just a noob question, it is a question unrelated to this guide, find the fat32 USB guide (many of the mods here have it in their sigs) I would look for it for you, but, something has happened to my browser and the page is coming up as if all CSS was removed...

system menu 4.3U Wan
I bought my wii with a modded system menu that says 4.3U Wan.
I really don't know much about this but reading this thread makes me feel I need to do the guide to understand more on how this thing works.
but the thing is, do I still need to do this?

mauifrog, i followed your guide and it was a huge help but however i did notice some problems in the patched system menu after time. I followed your guide for a 4.3u wii and downgraded it to 4.1u from your guide. After a while the pointer in the patched 4.1 system menu seemed laggy and was extremely jittery. i already checked if i was not too far away from the sensor bar and tested the wii remote from all directions in my living room. The cursor was still laggy and jittery. sometimes in games i also notice this jitteryness/lag (SMG2, black ops, etc.) This never happened in 4.3u and i want to know if i can possibly fix this somehow. I know that i cant legitly update back to 4.3 or i will brick, is there a way to get around this pointer issue. any sort of help or advice from anyone would be awesome, thanks.
