Sure! Follow the guide and it will bring you to 4.1 actually. But you still need a game to get the homebrew channel installed on 4.3. There's no way around it.

I apologize if I missed it somewhere (prob the first page), I have modded all but the 4.3 now and Im a bit confused with the step process. I have the chapter 1 understood it's chapter 2 I want to make sure I understand. Do I not only put the mod pack AND the CIOS pack together or do I put the mod pack on, let it do it's thing in the wii and THEN put the cios pack on (Reformat sd again) and go again. Sorry if it's in here but I missed it. just want to make sure Im doing it right. Thanks for the guide.

Nevermind. I just did it and its all good. Thanks again for the guide.

I believe as I said. The inability to read disks is not caused by following this tutorial. And that there are an infinite amount of cause and effect scenarios.

    add usb functionality?

So I understand how this guide works and it will downgrade my system menu to 4.1. The thing I liked about 4.3 is that it updates the USB drivers so I can use the added sensors (with usb bluetooth adapter) for ea sports fitness games. Is there any way to mod that after so that functionality is added or keep it at 4.3 and still softmod?

Is there a way to add that capabiltity on top of this hack so I can use those adaptors/games?
If you mean the balance board, it works fine with 4.1.

Hi, I have a 4.3U Wii and would like to know what's the reason on downgrading it to 4.1 after I have unlocked it? Is that really necessary for something? Thank you all in advance

^^^^ I'd like to know too. Is it for reading back up discs? My buddy had 4.2u and was able to play the back ups, then updated to 4.3 (dont know why) and now none of his back ups work.

4.1 is generally considered to be the preferred revision to be at. 4.2 and 4.3 add nothing except to make it harder to hack. Hardmods cannot play out of region dics using 4.2 and 4.3. It's always a good idea to be at least a version behind, because it allows more options if anything goes wrong down the line.

First and foremost, MauiFrog, you are absolutely amazing. I've used this guide now three times and all three times have worked like a charm. Espescially the NAND backup, I never bothered with it because I didn't know how to do it, but walking me through it is probably the best thing that could've happened to my Wii xD. And bonus update and brick protections!

Now, I've got a couple questions about customizing your default hacked settings.

First question: the Backup Launcher Channel, it's an autobooting NeoGamma backup loader, but why doesn't the NeoGamma logo and extra info show up around the outsides of the menu? It was nice to see what IOS rev NeoGamma was currently running, as well as other diagnostic info when loading a disc (I'm used to NeoGamma R8). Is it possible to get that back?

Second question: I also had an old version of USBConfig (version 60) that allowed me to select the source from which to load my games before loading that source (either USB or SD card), had a white Wii-style interface (point and click the boxcover of the game I wanted to play), and didn't auto-shut down if no source was detected. How can I restore these settings while updating to the latest USBConfig version?

Lastly: the music that plays when you select the Backup Launcher Channel from SM, before hitting start, is there an easy way to change that music? I'd like to do so for both Backup Launcher Channel and the USB Config Forwarder Channel.

Any clarifications you need, feel free to ask. I'm running a Wii 4.1U now, was on 4.3U Wan (waninkoko's hacked 4.3 update) prior to using your guide today. And I apologize if any or all of my questions are noobish.
Can anyone (not necessarily MauiFrog) help me?

I would suggest that you do a lot of Googling. Not trying to be rude in any way, but your questions pertain to customization of certain software, which in no way is related to this guide. CFG questions belong in the CFG guide etc. You may have better luck if you create a new thread regarding Backup Launcher Channel. If anyone knows the answer they will be happy to respond there. Best of luck!
