Just curious, but what does Partition Manager automatically set as the cluster size? I don't have computer access for a few hours, so I can't check at the moment. I ask because the new Dios Mios requires 32kb clusters to run GC games off USB, and I am assuming this is the reason I can't get it to work.

Is it really necessary to format the entire HDD? I got a Samsung S2 1TB that comes with in-built software and I don't want to lose it...

Here's the thing about those drives with the built in software: Sometimes it will work ok with your Wii stuff, sometimes it won't. The last thing you want in the middle of a game is for your drive to go on standy. Some of that software can interfere with the Wii in recognizing the drive. There are so many things that might not work with that stuff. Here you have a guide that tells you how to format it to make it work. Is there really any software on it that you cant find the equivalent of to install on your PC? In my experience, most of that software is nothing more than bloatware to push the name of the mfg. Yeah the software may seem cool, but there are many many alternatives to install on the PC side, which will allow you to utilize the full capabilities of your drive.

    /End of rant..lol

Will I have any problems if I divide the HDD and run the games from only one of the partitions? Is there a guide teaching how to do that?

    Hi there,

Just trying to clear up some confusion about the 'Splitting' of iso's if they're over 4gb.

In Wii Game Manager, next to the Game Title it says File Size (often over 4gb) then Est. Size (often under 2gb).

Am I basing the splitting of the file on the former or the latter?

So far I've split anything that's over 4gb in the 'file size' column on the left, but I just have a feeling that might be an unneccessary move given the estimate final size.

Thanks in advanced for the feedback!

Thanks Pob After all this time, am very grateful you're still out there helping us lost souls!

Does it matter if I 'Split' a file that's under 2gb? Doesn't look like it'd affect it anyway...

I've run into a problem. I have some .ISO's that I converted into .wbfs format using Wii Backup manager. The ISO's convert fine when The transfer location is pointed at an NTFS folder on one of my storage drives, but then won't transfer over to my fat32 drive that I'll plug in when I move games over (says file is too large for the destination file system even though the file is about 1GB). I also tried transferring directly too my fat32 drive and backup manger just won't start the conversion.

EDIT: I'm using windows explorer to transfer over the files.
