Thank you Pob and Blu! Once the little one goes down for his nap, I plan to commence my soft mod! Wish me luck!

    Hi
    1) I followed the guide and formatted my hdd from wbfs to fat32 and restored the games. when i try to load them from USB loader GX it doesn't show the games names anymore (when my hdd was on wbfs it i had their names). can you please help me on that?

    2) for some reason i can't see the 2 splitted games: metroid prime and MW3 (tried to split them on 2GB and 4GB and they appear on the wbfs library but not on usb loader/wiiflow) any suggestions?

    thanks in advance

Thanks for this guide. Formatting to FAT32 and copying my games to my HDD was a breeze. Now then, I have a few games that can no longer be read. I tried d/l and installing my first iso with wii manager. The game seems to play great. However the estimated game size was 1.32 gb but file size was 4.xx Is it common for a 3 GB difference? Also, USBloader GSX reads it as .93 when running it in the menu. Again, it played fine. Just never did the iso thing and wanted to be sure before d/l my other 4 unplayable games, that this shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again for the guide.

    Hey everyone,
I am about to attempt this tutorial, but there are some questions I have (sorry if they've been asked before, but I got through like 5 pages before giving up).

    Info:
    Mac OS X lion
    WD 500gb

    1. My WD hard drive says S.M.A.R.T status: Not supported (it use to say no permission) is this fixable?
    2. Will I be able to have other things on this hard drive besides Wii games (i.e movies, music)?

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

1 you don't need to do anything

2 anything 4GB and under can be stored on the drive for use with other devices

That is normal, a lot of games are quite small after all the useless data is removed

It may have been mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread, but is it possible to only format part of my external hard drive so that I can use part of it to continue backing up files on my computer? I have a 1TB Hard drive and I only need to back up around 200GB of data from my computer so I have plenty of room left to devote to Wii games, but my last computer's hard drive melted down before I had a chance to backup any of the files and I had to go through the hassle of paying to get all of the files saved, so I don't want to give up backing up my computer files so that I can backup Wii games.
