In chapter 2 using Wii Game Manager it says that you have split the file if it's over 4GB in size, is that the current size of the file or is that the estimated size after you convert it in WBFS format? For instance if I had a ISO that was 4GB in size but when converted it's less than 4GB could I just convert it without splitting it?

Yes - the size that it is referring to is the final, compressed size.

First off no you will not have two pictures on WiiFlow. The loaders will recognize that the game is split with no user interaction required.

I use WiiBackupManager. IMO its the best one around, but of course you are free to decide that for yourself.

There is no exact way to determine how many games will fit on a 500GB HDD. Game sizes depend on how much data is involved in the game itself. Example: A game called "Cradle of Rome" only takes up 96MB, "Super Smash Brothers Brawl" takes up 7094MB. Granted those two games are the extremes, most games are between 1-3GB, but you can see where I'm coming from.

I forgot about that one. Bought it on the Wiishop channel a few years ago so didn't bother when it came out on disc. Yep that one is small. Great compilation of some retro games though! Point proven that it doesnt matter how much stuff they can pack into a game! Give me some mario and I will have a ton more fun than some of the 3rd party crap releases that take up 100x the space and make me wish I had never bought the game.... Game Reviews people, read the Game Reviews...lol

    Agreed!

I heard a LOT of things about Super Mario Galaxy 2 so I rented it (a good opportunity to try it before buying it) and it was actually really good!

Went and bought it a week later

I'm just getting around to fooling with this HDD again (Life Happens ya know).

So I've tried setting up my brand new 500gb HDD. I have posted some scenario's that I have tried (No Luck).

It has to be something trivial because I've used a 8gb memory stick (Flash Drive/thumb drive etc) to play games from backup.

Can anyone show me a basic File Structure setup and exactly what files are in the tree of files?

I followed along with Barwii spoilers that he listed but it looks like a whole lot of things that I don't necessarily need.

Can anyone look and see if there is some trimming that could be done. I'm already softmodded with MauiFrog and is there a need for MMM and such to be on the HDD still, even after softmod? and the cIOSX_rev19-fullpack?

I just assumed I was good to go on the IOS because of Maui's guide and prcedure.

ANYONE HELP...........SOMEONE? I get about 2 posts and the forum seems to die. It can't be this hard, too many kids are successfully getting it to work...lol

Thanks For any help again, (Still working on looking at what I can figure from "barwii's" Post

I have a 500GB HDD partitioned to FAT32 and NTFS....FAT32 for HB apps and VC. NTFS for full copies of backups without the file size constraint that FAT32 imposes. & I can still use for my Windows 7 files etc.
