From reading around I am understanding that the slower you burn the more easier it is for your Wii to read and is less harsh on the lazor, people have burned at 16x and they still play on the Wii.

My last 3 burns all load but show up black and white (These are three different games) when i load them on wii. What is the reason for the bad burns. Is it something I am doing wrong with my burn process?
Your last 3 burns what region were the games and what region is your Wii?

Tesco DVD+R disc - same iso, Wii couldn't read it.
My burner: External USB TSSTcorp/GERICOM DVD+/- RW
Burn software: ImgBurn
Burn Speed: 4x
The iso I burned was an NTSC one, and I have a PAL Wii. It worked fine (i just wanted to test it)
****Since posting, I've had trouble with my Wii reading burned backups, so now I use a 16gb memory card via the USB slot and use USB Loader to launch the games - they work really well!

The problem was with the region on the disc. I had to change the region in neogamma to ntsc as the dvd was Pal. Thanks for your help.
