I have been watching your posts in this thread since yesterday but decided not to say anything until now, so here it goes lol.

First off, it came across pretty harsh telling us our guides weren't good enough. Knee jerk reaction for me was to tell you to shove it (which is why I didnt respond LOL), but I also saw your intentions were basically to make things more simple.

There is something here that I think you have neglected to look at. The guide you speak of was originally authored by mauifrog, who is a legend in the Wii community. Quite some time ago he left the guide in the hands of this Staff. Since then we have painstakingly looked at every facet, simplified everything that we could, all the while making certain that every available precaution was taken to make sure the people who followed the guide would not turn their Wii into a paperweight. We are constantly watching it and the posts in it for different things to make it better. Now, if you look at all of our post counts, you will see that we have thousands upon thousands of posts here. That means that we have responded to thousands upon thousands of questions and problems. And we have also seen each other respond to even more! The problem is that you havent been around the scene enough to know WHY we do everything the way we do it.

The point is that if there were a way to make it more simple, we would do it. The end user is our #1 priority. And you need to trust that there is a reason why everything is the way it is in the ANY Wii Guide.

Completely true. I have looked over these:
    Guide: Softmod ANY Wii

[GUIDE] - DIOS MIOS v2.10 - Play Gamecube Backups From Your USB HDD

And I now realize that these two guides are all that one needs. Although still, the user doesn't learn how to go about updating Loaders with mods and such themselves <=== but who's to say that's a bad thing XD

For YOU, you mean. What if I'm Jax and an emulator nut? Maybe your choice isn't my choice. This is why there are guides for specific applications... so users have the flexibility in terms of their interests.

    What nighty said...

I have no interest in dios mios or devolution myself, so why would I need it?

Have users update their own loaders? Sure, then their config files dont work, or some feature is broken in the revision they downloaded because it's in beta. For the general user, there would be no need. For those who want to dig deeper, well, they make a post asking how to do it and we help them, but thats beyond the scope of the guide itself. You were just talking about simplicity right?

Which version of d2x would you have them install anyways? Think because its newer its better? Think again. Do you realize how many people lost compatibility with their existing HDD's when upgrading d2x? Speaking of which, how you gonna have them format the drive anyways? FAT32, NTFS? Why?

    Get the point?
