    is hacks_hash used each time?

    Hi Guys,

I've been reading up on installing Priiloader and have a quick question regarding the hacks_hash.ini ... Is this file only needed when installing hacks, or if any hacks are enabled, will priiloader need to access the file each time the wii is powered on?

The reason I ask is I have a slight issue with my SD slot, where a SD card is only read if I press &hold the SD card in. Allowing the card to spring back slightly to what is normally the lock position stops the Wii from reading the card. Yes this is slightly awkward for installing things from the card, but it's not much of an issue (as long as I don't slip and release during an install!). Obviously having to do this each time I turn the Wii on (if priiloader does need to access the file each time) would be much less convenient.

    Cheers,
    -Phoenix

After it's loaded the first time it's stored in the NAND, so no need to keep it on you SD card.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before ( I didn't see it when I was looking though this thread anyawy), but the description of the hacks could use a slight update. Specifically:the save game restriction removal as I can copy save games to SD card and back using this method and have for some time. V4.3 and I all I needed was Hackmii and Priiloader.

This is the main reason I hacked my Wii in the first place as I wanted backups of some games saves that were protected. Drove me nuts. And the action of backing up was rewarded shortly after I did it ....I was playing a game and made a bad choice runining hours of progress in the game. Normally the game was protected and I would have been up a creek. But in this case I just deleted the game save from the wii, and copied the backup from the SD card and saved my bacon.

I was wondering about the "stop disc" feature in the settings section. Since I have backed up all of my games to my external HDD and never use physical discs anymore, I was hoping there was some way of stopping the Wii drive from looking for a disc (and therefore stopping the drive from making a loud spinning noise) every time I turn on the Wii.

I turned the "stop disc" feature ON in the settings and saved, although this had (seemingly) no effect since the drive still spun when I booted.

I am on 4.1U SM (Following MauiFrog's guide to softmod and downgrading from 4.3U)

    Any input?

I believe this had to do with a bug in an old IOS. The DVD drive didn't get closed and it just kept spinning. Could be wrong, though. You might be able to find DacoTaco on IRC sometime and ask him about it.

    Hello,
I followed the instructions and put the usb gx loader.dol file on the root of the SD card. Changed the settings to installed file. However, the system does not boot to the USBLoader GX. What can I do to fix this?

you have to install the file through priiloader, then set it to boot to installed file

I did that as well. Loaded the .dol file on the root of the SD card went into Priiloader > Selected the install file option > installed the usbloader.dol file.

    But no luck..

Yes I did, and set the "Return to" to autoboot.

So i did a little more testing. Under the load/install file section, i tried to load the usb_loader_gx.dol file and it failed with "failed to load binaries" error.

The link for the .DOL file is broken in instructions. Is the DOL file same as the file that comes with the modpack files for the usbloaderGX?
