You should mention that would only work for D3-2 drives, the D4 boards are physically incompatible for swapouts...

    All it says is:
The console has model number RVL-001(USA), produced for the North American market. The copyright year is 2006. No drive info.

I guess it'd be too hard to look at the serial number that can be found on the back of it, huh?

Alright, so I've got a wii from the original release that I decided to softmod earlier this year. I smashstacked my way into getting hbc installed and then let the wii collect dust for a few months. Finally getting my harddrive back in order I decided to make backups of my games and run them from the hdd. The method I used to go about this, and the whole cios deal was to just use "Pimp My Wii" (Removed Brick My Wii link)

And, right now everything works beautifully, wiiflow, cfg usb loader, usb loader gx all run great. Even wiimc and the nes/snes/gba emulators work well.

So now I want to create a gcn backup disc (all of this is mainly because Im too lazy to change discs and get uninspired to play by the time I locate said disc and load it up, but I digress...)

So, the only thing that is causing me to ask a question before I start is that your instructions state, that it will overwrite the current cios installed. Will that break the functionality of the other apps that are working for me right now?

Also, if you happened to look at the link, does pimp my wii install what I need to just maybe try to run the neogamma app included in the gamecube pack 001.rar?

TL-DR: Does your guide break or cause other known apps such as cfg loader to not work properly?

My EDIT: While I understand this site and community have an opinion about the program, all my searches about it have wiihacks.com people saying its bad from 2010. A new version was released all of two weeks ago. And obviously it didn't brick my wii.

    Pimp My Wii Rant

On to the advice section. If you have a launch wii, it likely has a boot1 bug which allows you to install bootmii as boot2. If thats the case, make a NAND backup of your wii in its current state. Then use Mauifrogs AnyWii guide (in my sig) to update your softmod. If you end up not liking it, restore from your nand backup, and you're no worse off then you were. Wiis modded with this guide work with anything that a wii can work with, without need for further modification.

Running NeoGamma (R9B50) with no DVD got me the following message "DVD Err(01023a00) Disc ID" than I get "No disc inserted". I'd like to know if I'm good or not

    thanks
