Does this mean my wii is not capable of playing gamecube backups?

If not, would this affect my Wii in anyway since I went along with the whole guide process?
thats right, stick to usb loading or replace the drive in your Wii

you will have to add a WODE or a SunDriver for GC backups, sorry for the confusion.

Once you are through with this, how would you load the gamecube backups? Most importantly, could you still load GC Backups through the disc channel? I follow the mauifrog Softmod Any Wii guide and asked him specifically, he said that it enables backups on the backup disc launcher, and the original disc channel. However, these were not working for me. I think that the launchers I installed with the mauifrog guide simply dont support Multi ISOs because I know that both games are compatible with Multi, I didnt shrink them, and I burned properly at 4x with Verbatim DVD-R Azo Dye discs. Any help is appreciated.

First make sure your wii is capable of reading DVD-R/+R.

Also, if you're using Neogamma that''s the problem. Neogamma dont support Milti isos

Okay, thanks for that. And yes, my wii can. I'm one of the lucky few with bootmii installed as boot2.

Can you still load the backups (including multi) through the original disc channel?

I've been testing this out. I really enjoyed Tales of Symphonia when I got it so thought I'd do it over.

    1. Create a Multi-Game ISO that has both Disc 1 and Disc 2 of the game using the provided tool. Don't shrink the game (not sure, I just haven't tested this so don't bother shrink it).

    2. Burn the image onto a DVD.

    3. Launch your game using Neogamma R9 Beta 49 or later.

    4. Play your game and enjoy, eventually you may get prompted to switch to disc 2.

    5. Simply, eject the disc in the dvd drive and re-insert the same one. It'll begin checking the disc then continue.

    Tested: Tales of Symphonia Disc 1 & 2 on a MultiGame ISO - Neogamma R9 Beta 49 - cIOS249 d2x v4 - using both cMIOS v10 and v4

It might work if you have two separate discs too.
