    a) there is no IC chip at 3001 on PCB, no epoxy, nothing

    b) there is no writing on the large black IC chip at 2001 where usually one finds GCX-XX

    c) my dvd-rom PCB has the two following markings VEP72123 on the first box, then on the second box KA293D0P0 as you can see there is no "E" of "F" at the beginning of the second box text so I'm puzzled. By the way you can see a similar photo with IC chip layour on the Divineo.cn website except in that photo the text on the second box on the PCB starts with an "F" Mxxxxxxx. All there was on my second box was a little white sticker with barcode and number KA293D0P0.

So your ideas thoughts would be appreciated in trying to establish what type of dvd-rom PCB I have on my Wii ! Thanks matey arghh...
I am not very knowledgeable when it come to the insides of a Wii, but if your Wii is new and does not play Wii backup discs, then it surely will not play GC backup discs, sorry if you were looking for something more technical but it is a simple as that. Now, if I could, I'd make that D3-2 walk the plank, arghh!!!

I don't know if they were bad images or not, I tried 3 different times. two of them were .iso and one was .gcm. I burned all 3 with imgburn at 4x because my burner will not drop to 2x on to memorex dvd-r disks.

I even disabled in Priiloader in the settings menu window "Region Free Wii game" and also I disabled "Region Free channel"

I still get error messages loading it with the game already in before and after the loading screen.

Did you verify the burn, to assure that the image on the disc matches the image on your computer, this will also find a bad disc sometimes. Also, have you checked the compatibility list to make sure the games work to start with? But, if you're getting a error message then I would say you have a bad disc, or it wasn't burned properly. Try burning with a differnet computer or try switching the brand of DVD media you are using. Try using verbatim or TY discs.

    Cool argh...shiver me wiilee lol

thanks for the opinion Stomp_442 matey and yerr it would be good to make those D3-2 dvd-roms walk the plank and drown away lol arghh... I will try to get a backup GameCube game once I have all the necessary hardware+software arghh....

Now Strizay matey arghh don't be using cheapo blank media like memobadx cause it will put a greater strain on your Wii laser. While if you used very good DVD-R blank media like Stomp_442 suggests Verbatim, Tayo Yuden, try also TDK and Sony brands.

The reason ImgBurn forces the burn speed to x4 is probably cause your cheap media is marked from x4, once you get the very good blank media go into the ISO write to DVD in ImgBurn window then pop in your blank disc and on the bottom right where it says settings go click on the right and see a little green walking dude otherwise check the actual maker of ImgBurn Mr Lightning_UK on his own website here How to use the 'Automatic Write Speed' (AWS) feature in ImgBurn - ImgBurn Support Forum it will explain better "Automatic Write Speed Setting" !

Also I suggest you just try burning and verify the burn of only one GameCube game onto a blank 4.7G very good media first and follow Lightning_UK advice then see if that will load in your Wii via NeoGamma or GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 since you have it installed. Good luck and let us know how you go arghh...

    Hello captain!

Thank you for your answer and will to help, but, my problem has nothing to do with original GC games that aren't working.

my problem is after I installed, I couldn't run GC backup games, and SOME wii games... for example, the WII SPORTS (yea, that first one!)

and I don't have this priiloader software .. or I just can't see it.. :/

Thank you guys for your very helpful answers. I am going to get a few Sony brand disks a little later then I will try again and report back. I will also use the verify function of imgburn. Thank you for your responses, I really appreciate the help.

edit: I made an image of a disk I already burned because I don't have the original image, I'm not sure if this would have made a difference or not. I still got the same error messages. This time though I used disks from Sony (SONY16D1) and I used the 'Automatic Write Speed' (AWS) feature in ImgBurn. I set the aws to burn at 2x but it still burned at 4x.

I have this information I got from the Wii 1.0.5 IOS61 v.19.26 does this make a difference?

edit 2: I went to wii drive chip database to check out something and got * There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
    * And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.

Is this the reason why I can't play any GC backups?

    Cool arghh shiver me timbers...

mmmm warriorlol me heartie I think perhaps you should get further help from a mate plus read carefully the softmod for the Wii in this forum... two reading eyes are better than one arghh...cause it looks to me that you dont know what hack software you have installed on your wii...for example if you had followed the softmod guide then you would have known that you did install Priiloader and that to find the window for the programme you need to keep your finger pressed on the reset button then press the power on button of your Wii and boom you get to see the window for Priiloader.....

so matey just either make your wii into a virgin Wii following the guide in the tutorial section and then install the softmod that is for your Wii version then you will have a stable softmod then come back here in this thread and install the gamecube backup launcher...

I meant that you should try one game to burn (gamecube ISO) and not the Original gamecube. Also check if your Wii burnt backup games work because possibly you could have the D3 or D3-2 dvd-rom circuit board and from what I have seen it prevents the Wii from recognising any backup DVD-R disc no matter the quality or burnt speed.

So virginize you Wii then apply the softmod then you could use NeoGamma to try to load that burnt Wii backup game you have. If it doesnt work then perhaps your dvd-rom circuit board is crappola and you only have option to use USB LOaderGX and a USB Harddrive and play the ripped/backed up Wii games. Also means you may not be able to play burnt GameCube backups. Good luck argh...Let us know what you end up doing!

Now Strizay matey arghh....shiver me timbers it could be that you have the crappola D3 or D3-2 dvd-rom circuit board which means you can't either play Wii or GameCube burnt backups.

If you have done the Softmod correctly and installed correctly the GameCube backup Loader stuff and made a verified good media backup of your Wii or GameCube game then test it out. I recommend using NeoGamma to load your burnt Wii and then try GameCube backup launcher for your burnt gamecube game. If for the Wii or gamecube game the burn is good and verified in ImgBurn, the blank media very good and your Wii doesnt load either Wii or GC backup then you have a crappola dvd-rom, only real way to see the dvd-rom circuit board and confirm it its a D3 or D3-2 is to open your Wii which cancels your remaining warranty. Up to you. Have a look at the link I gave yesterday which tells you how to set the Automatic Write Speed its a very good guide and explanation. Good luck and report back on what you end up doing.

This may be noob-ish, but I'm confused about game compatibility. I am using the softmodded Wii guide (mine is 4.1U). I really want to make a Zelda Multi-Iso disk (Collectors Edition, Four Swords, Ocerina Master Quest, Wind Waker). Looking on the compatibility link it has the following listed for Collector's Edition:

(THETA)Use ((start) Reboot) to launch. Majoras Mask is crashing once you play the ocarina so it isnīt playable yet, other games unaffected. (Xi)Boot with rebooter, wait ~3 minutes to pass red Nintendo, games work perfectly, Majora's Mask plays through The Song of Time like a breeze(Xi). Shrinked iso starts but freezes when launching any game. (0.2) Logo goes by much faster with rebooter. Majora's Mask freezes when playing the Song of Time again. Leaving Retrospective (and possibly other titles) causes lockup.

I have no idea what this means. What is THETA? What is Xi? So, does this work on a multi-iso or what? I'd like to find out before I waste a DVD.

I would burn this game to a disc without using the multiISO creator, and boot it with GC backup launcher Xi, GET CGBL Xi HERE.
    1. insert the disc
    2. start GC backup launcher Xi
    3. select the rebooter to start game.
    4. watch the intro.

I haven't tried this game yet, but the compatibility list says it works booting like that. Make sure the game ISO is of your region for best compatibility.

I think I'll just go with Ocerina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I dont like Majoras Mask, and I can play the others on VC. Thanks for the help. Oh, one last question, Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia are both 2 disks. Lets say I was to put both disks of ToS on one disk, how would one, switch to disk 2 when its time?
