No you cannot. The drive in your Red Wii is to new. There is a chipset in it that prevents backup game from being read.
When im making the MIOS with NUS downloader, what IOS im supose to be loading ?
Why doesnt everything or nothing work?
hey it says im missing a Gamecube dol file or something can you help me out. My wii is softmodded,4.1U, Also is it safe if i install WiiGator's cMIOS from Homebrew channel?
Hi, this is my first post and hope I'm aking at the right place. I've succeeded recently to backup gamecube isos after many trials (actually my backups would only work with wasabi zero on a d2b-cut wii if i would burn at 2x speed - 1x or 4x wouldn't make it !) and now I have a few questions:
- I use verbatim dvd-r but the other day i used maxell's. They burned fine but the drive makes a slight humming when spinning. Doesn't seem serious but I wounder if this could affect the lifetime of my drive.
- Speaking about lifetime, I would like to secure my backupable wii for many years, would it be wise to purchase an optical bloc right now as the new "red wii" drives won't be compatible with modchips
- finally, i have a 3.4 firmware. Can it explain why I could only burn some media (even Sony wont do) at very precise speed (2x) or is it completely independent ?
I see that you recommend gamecube games to be burned on 4x speed but everywhere i go people and other forums are recommending 1-2x speed , why 4x ?
I heard if you have a Japaneses game save file in your gamecube memory card it can corrupt the memory card deleting all of the saves , is this true ?
I have a problem with playing Gamecube backups. I am using WiiGator's cMIOS on IOS249 and it installs fine, and then use Neogamma (latest version i think) to play my Gamecube backups burned on dvds. they play fine, everything works. BUT if I try to put in any Wii games (backups or original discs) I get an alert saying I need to update to play them. This update does nothing except uninstalls the cMIOS. I then need to re-install it in order to play any Gamecube games. Is there any other installer I can use that does not force a system update? Or any other way I can fix this annoying problem?
You should update the IOS with Multi Mod Manager and use priiloader to block online and disk updates, and go into Neogamma and go under rebooter options and put skip updates to yes and it will auto save the configuration on the sd card.
Works great, thank you.
