Can you use DVD+RW for this? As I'm following every step, Burning the games correctly and have everything running on the Wii like the backup launcher and cMIOS etc. I also set the book type to DVD ROM yet still it won't read any game I burn - The Wii just either keeps resetting when I try to load it, Goes into a black screen or the drive just keeps making a clicking noise. Actual Wii and gamecube disks work and my Wii was from early 2007 so I don't think it's that new drive type causing it. The disks are BENQ 4X DVD+RW. If I get a bunch of Verbatim DVD-R instead will it work? Thanks

    EDIT - FIXED

The Gamecube backup launcher didn't work whatsoever no matter how many times I tried it so in the end I had to use Neogamma and set the video mode to Wii then after clicking read DVD it would flash a green screen then go black and say no input (PAL Console trying to run NTSC 480p games) then I had to hold down the B button on my Gamecube controller for about 5 seconds while still looking at a black screen then press A, It plays a little noise then the screen comes on and the games work.

This is still using the DVD+RW disks.

    Hey everyone,
I installed MIOS v10 w/ I think Waninkokos Installer. I did the Network Install.

Anyways, I tried to launch Pikmin from USB Loader GX. It didn't work, so I tried launching it w/ Gamecube Backup Launcher 0.2 included in the package.

I burned Metroid one, two, and Pikmin on one disc w/o shrinking anything on a Sony disc. When I tried launching it, The launcher goes black & white and goes up and down.
Since Metroid Prime one is the first game, I pressed A and it launched, w/o any color. But it works perfectly (in color) in the USB Loader GX loader.

I know for a fact that all the games on the disc are NTSC-U, like my Wii.

    What do I do?

I'm curious about the D-3 2 drives mentioned in the OP. How does one know if they have one? I tried searching, but all that I saw were posts about trying to circumvent their limitations and hardmodding.

If your Wii is less than a year old, high probability D3-2 drive. There is a chip database for the Wii where you can enter your serial # and get probabilities, try google.

Problem with the language (only in german) of PAL GC multigames iso

    Hi,
I've tried to burn games in a multigame iso format.
The games are in PAL format, but my problem is that
when I'm trying to play them the language of the games
is in german and in most of the games I cannot change the
    language (marrio tennis, zelda etc).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much!

If your Wii is hardmodded then you are set already, no other mods are needed.

If your Wii has a D3-2 DVD drive in it, then backup discs will not play in your Wii.
This means Wii and GameCube backup discs will not work.
Currently, the only way for owners of a Wii with this DVD drive to play GameCube
backups is to purchase a Wode, you can scroll to the top of the screen and check
out one of the WiiHacks forum supporters to purchase a Wode.

This tutorial is for a softmodded Wii, if your Wii is not softmodded then
look at one of these tutorials. Or, if you followed a Youtube video to softmod
your Wii, then you may want to re-softmod following one of these tutorials,
just so we are on the same page.

    3.1 to 4.1 softmod - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html - dogeggs
    4.2 softmod - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html - messie

The only thing you need to do to your Wii to play GameCube backup is to
patch the MIOS. This tutorial will show you how to do that. Currently, the
only way to boot GC backups is with a disc, there is no support to
boot GC backups from a usb hard drive
    .

You will also need a Game Cube controller and a Game Cube memory card,
a SD card will not work for Game Cube game saves.

After completing this tutorial, if you have preloader/priiloader installed, turn
off the region free setting, if you don't you will lose the ability to play
    original retail GameCube discs.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I recommend that you have cIOS38 rev17 installed. Get it from this link.

    http://www.wiihacks.com/member-submi...-released.html

This is not mandatory, just a recommendation. If you feel comfortable with the cIOS
you have installed then stay with it.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have compiled a package of Game Cube apps that you will need for this process.
    In this package is -

    1. miospatcher
    2. cMIOS installer rev3
    3. RVL-mios-v8.wad
    4. Gamecube Launcher 0.2 - CUBE.wad (GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 channel)
    5. rungcbackup (GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 boot.dol)
    6. IMGburn
    7. MultiGameISO Creator 3.5.4F+

    DOWNLOAD - Attachment 1120, Mirror

I recommend using a 2GB Sandisc SD card.

NOTE - some members have reported getting a black and white scrolling
screen while trying to play GC backups. If you experience problems like this then
use Neogamma, and force video region to "Wii" to boot your GC backups. I think
that GCBL 0.2 either doesn't like multiISO discs or it doesn't like NTSC consoles.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Installing the cMIOS

There are two different processes to install a cMIOS
    1.) Wiigators MIOS patcher
    2.) Waninkoko's cMIOS installer rev3
    3.) Waninkoko's cMIOS installer rev3, offline installation.
Only one of the processes is needed, but both are covered to prevent
questions of why one process was left out. I will be adding waninkoko's
(new) cMIOS installer rev5 to this tutorial soon, so check back.

    1. miospatcher - You will need a wi-fi connection for this process.

Copy "miospatcher" folder to the apps folder of your Wii SD card.
    1. Run this app from HomeBrew Channel.
    2. Read the on-screen menu, select "Version: MIOS v8"
    3. Next, "Supported Boot Method", press the "X" button to change, I don't
see how this selection will change anything so select what you want.
    4. Now press the A button to install the patch.
    5. The patched MIOS is based from MIOS v8.

    2. cMIOS installer rev3 (Network Install) - You will need a wi-fi
    connection for this process.

Copy "cMIOS rev3" folder to the apps folder of your Wii SD card.
    1. Run this app from the HomeBrew Channel.
    2. Read disclaimer and press the "A" button.
    3. Next, select "Network Install" then press the "A" button to install cMIOS.
    4. Now press any button to return to Wii menu.
    5. The installed cMIOS is based from MIOS v8.

    3. cMIOS installer rev3 (Wad install)
No internet connection required for this process.

Copy "cMIOS rev3" folder to the apps folder of your Wii SD card.
Copy "RVL-mios-v8.wad" to the root of your Wii SD card
    1. (do not put this wad in the wad folder)
    2. In Homebrew Channel select the "cMIOS rev3"
    3. Read the disclaimer and press the "A" button.
    4. Next, select "Wad Install" then press the "A" button to install the cMIOS.
    5. Now press any button to return to the Wii menu.
    6. The installed cMIOS is based from MIOS v8.

    GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2

This is the latest release from Wiigator. It will provide the best
compatibility for GameCube backups. There are other methods to boot
GC backup discs but may not have the compatibility that
GC Backup Launcher 0.2 has, this launcher is your best bet.
    4.)Wii channel
    5.)HomeBrew Channel
You do not need both of these steps, pick your preference.

    4. Gamecube Launcher 0.2 - CUBE.wad - This will install a
GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 channel onto your Wii menu. Copy this wad
to the wad folder of your Wii SD card. Use wad manager to install this wad.
If you are using wad manager 1.4 or 1.5, don't forget to select IOS249
to do the installing. This wad was tested by me and others and is a known
good wad. None the less, installing a bad wad can brick your Wii, be careful
what wads you install, always get wads form a known good source.

    5. rungcbackup - Copy this folder "rungcbackup" to the apps folder of
your Wii SD card. Run this GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 from the
    HomeBrew Channel.

If you're trying to play out of region games on your Wii and all you see is a black and white screen, you have tried all the different options with the loader, but still black and white screen, use ISO's of your region and burn them to single game discs, do not burn a multiISO disc.

Please post and let me know when the links here are dead. Them guys at GBAtemp

    Burning GameCube Backup Discs

I have included an app that lets you create GC multiISO discs. It is pretty
straight forward and easy to use. It will let you create a GC disc with
multiple games on it. You can leave the images as is or shrink them to get
more games on a disc. If you have problems using it then visit the post
made by Favs to give you step by step instructions on how to use the
    GC MultiISO Creator.

GC MultiGameISO Creator tutorial - http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...-gc-games.html

Use IMGburn to burn GameCube backup discs, IMGburn may very well be the
best image/ISO burning software available. There are other threads on burning
Wii backup discs so I will give you the basics. If you have problems then
give a search about the forums. Tayio Yuden or Verbatim DVD -R is what is
recommended, so use one of them. DVD +R is possible, but you will have to
set the book type to "DVD ROM", if your burner supports it.

    - Install IMGburn
    - right click on the image (ISO/gcm) file to be burned.
    - select "burn using IMGburn"
    - select your burning speed, I recommend 4X
    - select "verify burn"
    - now burn your disc

While your disc is burning, burning a DVD is very delicate.

    - make sure your screen saver or virus scanner don't start running.
    - do not multi task, such as run other programs or surf the web
    - go get a sandwhich or something while burning, just leave your mouse alone.
