hello, I'm new here, My wii is US version. I've just downloaded wii sports resort PAL edition. I'm not very familiar about bricks and stuff back then cause I just bought my wii. It asked me to install an update on the system, after the installation I can no longer access my menu settings. I heard that this is a case of semi brick on my wii.

I don't know what my system menu version is right now but its in 3.4 before.

Can the update disk in the earlier post fix my wii? Is it risky to completely brick my wii if I use the update disk method?

I doubt it will because you're already in 3.4. Give it a shot though, there's no harm since if it does not work, the disc would not be read.

If you can get HBC + bootmii in there, then you have better chance of fixing it.

Hi people,

As you can see if you look at my name, i am a total n00b at wii hacking. But i am not lazy to learn so please do not ban me lol.

I installed HBC and DVDX with the hackmii installer but i want to be able to play backup games, i can't install bootmii as boot2 (newer wii boot1 prevents it) so i skipped the bootmii install. I am afraid that i will brick my brothers wii, and i read that i can't recover the system (NAND) if i use bootmii is IOS.

Do i need bootmii to play backup games at all, are there safe equivalents that i can use on the newer wii? I hope that i am not permanently banned seeing this is related to bricking (or the fear of).

Furthermore i searched the forums for an answer, but there is so much information and i just can't figure out what to do.

Hey Noobster,

I didn't say anything before, but if you have more questions about playing game backups, you should post in the Software backup Loaders area to which I referred you. Also, don't know if this is possible because it's not your Wii, less chance of semi or full bricking if you do a chipmod rather than a softmod. Anyway, as you read and learn the terms and names of things, post your questions in the related area and you'll catch the attention of more helpers. Good luck. I tried the update disk method for semi bricks it doesnt work on 3.4u you would need Boot mii + HBC + Wad Manager to fix your problem just like Bakla si Mark Ryan Ruiz said. Have you tried this? [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

Okay so i wanted to get on the internet today with my Wii when i realized i have a semi-bricked wii and am unable to get into my system settings to set up my wifi connection. I ended up getting Homebrew channel and tried to install a bunch of wad files disparately. But every program that said it would unbrick me needed to connect to the internet. Does anyone have a solution to this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!


The mods i have is Wiikey v1
The Game that messed me up,was a pal version of Wii sports resort with a firmware update.....I have a US wii so i guess this is what screwed me over...
