it worked i got it from code retard the link is below [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] . I burned the NTSC - USA version to a DVD, put it my wii and it loaded as a game cube found the 2 pal channels and then removed them. Is the homebrew something that might interest me as i play many scrubbed games and i know with future firmware upgrades they may not work.

Great, glad to hear it worked out Yes Homebrew is really where the Wii's strength lies, there are many apps/games people have developed and continue to develop. So installing the Homebrew channel is a must for any Wii enthusiast. The following is a great guide for installing and using Homebrew channel.

There is only one problem. In my case, I have ntsc wii. I put in a backup of madden 09 pal. Now my wii is already 3.3u. The game channels tells me to update. I update and the games play, wii settings menu still intact. I then get duplicate channels of weather and news channels. I use duplicate channel remover to remove pal news and weather channels. It then tells me to do a system update again in the channel menu. It appeas to be that, if you install a system update from a game on the wrong region, it lets you play the games. If you remove the duplicate channels, it also removes the games update. So, my question is. Is it better to just install the update from the game channel leave the duplicate channels alone? Or, avoid the game update and just gecko os?

Ideally, its always better to play games from your own region. If its absolutely necessary to play game from another region then you should remove the update, using either wiu1.1 or wum, from the iso of the game before burning it.

Help Help with semi bricked jap wii

I have a semi bricked modded jap console. It has all the stated syntoms.

For the records, the links above are dead.

I have found a link since at "http://www.coderetard.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/wii-system-menu-update-JAP-v288.rar".

Have burned it (using ImgBurn @ 1x speed using verbatim disc) and tried to load the disc but the menu keep prompting back with a question mark (I can roughly make out that the msg is saying that the disc is invalid or something).

Now I start to wonder if the version which I've downloaded is different with the *repad versions.

Any help is appreciated here.

my problem is resolved.
to answer my own question, turns out that I should make use of the repad versions. (have to google them for other locations).
This could be because of the incompatibility of the mod chip. Suspect mine is d2ckey now (btw, I have inherited the set from my brother in law and he is unsure of the mod chip itself).
