Once everything is installed on firmware 4.2, it should do fine. 4.2, just like 4.3, is only developed to attack homebrew users. With this kept in mind, we say that firmware 4.1 is the best firmware to use.
Once everything runs on 4.2 or 4.3, there are almost no reasons to downgrade to firmware 4.1.

There are only two reasons why firmware 4.1 is preferd over 3.2, and that is because 3.2 doesn't have the SD card menu, and doesn't have support for SDHC cards.
Overall, all firmwares are very similiar to each other when everything is installed and working, but the difference lies in the process of softmodding itself.

    Ok Thanks,
I went to verify dopemii and in the IOS files I have a couple of stubs which I removed before. What procedure do you suggest ( I still have the homebrew channel usb loader etc, and i tried using snes9x and it still works. ).

Should I just restart everything? ( As mentionned before no formatting involved )
Or should I simply remove only the stubs ios?

Here are somethings ive noticed :
    ios30-v2816(STUB) ios50 v4889 ios70 v 6687
    ios4 v65280 sTUB
    ios10 v768 (STUB)
    ios11 v256 (STUB)
    ios20 v256 (stub)
And theres others that are staying stub but under the selected version details

    ----
4:44Am after going threw dope-mii. I noticed other things that might f--- me up.

All this update does is update all files, and therefore your softmod and homebrew will be gone and you'll have to reinstall them.

I recommend installing Priiloader next time and using the hack to block disc and online updates (the code for online updates is on these forums somewhere)

If it isn't broken, don't fix it. So if everything works just leave it that way (maybe update it using the "updating your softmod" guide in the recommended guides section).

I don't really know on all the IOSes but again, if it works it's probably fine.

    Ok Sounds Good.
I was thinking of redoing all the step by step hack wit the priiloader and everything else since I dont have these programs on the Wii.

When I hacked my wii I had a paper format of the hack, and I just found it on the web *Removed Guide Link*. So that was exactly what I did to hack it. Later on as I said before, the Wii was Updated threw Wii Resort Cd.

I haven't tried to play a backup cd(USB) on the wii since I am not sure if the update scr**ed me over.

I prefer by far the instruction that were indicated on wiihacks.com, so do you think if I just reinstall everything using the installation guide for 4.2E Wiis I would :
    1- fix the issue, and
2- Would be able to play back up games

Thanks In advance. ( The Wii is still working for snes roms, and Wii Resort, so Gf is not complaining... yet )

Hmm, I'm not really sure here to be completely honest with you.

The guide is for virgin (never softmodded) Wiis, but I'm not sure if any problems occur if you are softmodded already.
Best would be to wait for someone with more knowledge about this to reply here

    Depends, really.
I don't think anyone bothered to read the user agreement (which you accepted probably), but if it says they will disable the Wii if you make unauthorized changes then it's completely legal.

Microsoft is doing the same with xbox360s by the way, completely blocking them from use if they find a modchip (the only way around it is reflashing the memory in case of the xbox)
