Never format your wii
Formatting your wii will not remove all of your softmods, and it could brick your wii.
nice post, you should always have a nand backup
It is still not suggested though to update to anything higher than 4.1 right?
Hi, This is actually my first post on the forum after hacking my wii. I hacked my gf Wii and left. From there on she used the Nintendo Wii, and she toid me that she popped a cd in the wii ( nintendo Sports and Nintendo REsorts original cd) and they asked her to update which she did ( Not online update just simply update from the wii game ). Right now I trying to find information on what to do.
Is there a way to undo the update that they asked her to do? Since its only a game update i dont think it updated the firmware. But is ther esomething I should do to prevent my wii from Bricking? She actually told me that she did the updates and was able to play afterwards ( the only thing is that a msg popped up after the update that said something like if you have an unauthirized modification on the wii it may be blocked.
Please Help, Im really worried about this. I followed all the steps onf the wiihackwii and my wii was initially a 4.2 with wifi connection ( but not connected to the internet. I also did a NAND file just in case something went wrong
Thanks in advance,
That message always appears.
All this update does is update all files, and therefore your softmod and homebrew will be gone and you'll have to reinstall them.
I recommend installing Priiloader next time and using the hack to block disc and online updates (the code for online updates is on these forums somewhere)

As I understand, the only difference is that some hacks/exploits in the system were fixed with 4.2
More hacks is better if hacking the system is what you're after
Though I'm not 100% sure on this.
