Size: originally 1tb, size can vary depending on modifications. in my case, i replaced the toshiba 1tb with my laptops hitachi travelstar 7200rpm HTS721080G9SA00 80gb, though i have tested it with both the original drive and the modified drive.
    Brand: Toshiba
    Model: HDTC610XK3B1
    Enclosure: fairly durable plastic
    Format: WBFS/Fat32
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.3u black wii downgraded to 4.1
Loader: Wiiflow mod (working with some issues (wii music and wii sports resort wont load for me), usb loader GX (newest) refuses to mount it for me. I do not use other loaders.
    Working
Notes: both hdd seems to have some issues with fat32 though it could be on my end. since the usb interface acts as a sata port, there is no sleep mode, so games never stall. due to the usb bridge, different "laptop" sata drives can be used, though this was tested only with the mentioned hard drives, so your milage may vary either on the original drive or with other drives. recomended if the issues are on my end only, or you have a usb hdd that sleeps, otherwise choose a better brand. quite inexpensive for a 1tb usb hdd (original price was $99.99 usd)

I just bought this HDD a couple weeks ago and it is Awesome. It works perfectly with all the apps in the guide and has no problems at all. It allowed me to stop using my SD card and 32gb Cruzer Glide that my 7yr old son kept taking out and loosing. Now I keep all of my apps, backups, emulators, roms, and videos all on this one drive formatted to FAT32 without additional partitions. It has a solid durable shell and a short usb 3.0 to 2.0 cable, so there's no risk of tangling or snagging the cable. I bought mine from Target(in store) w/10% off for $70. Here is a link to AMAZON for the exact Hdd described. Plus, you can get a 2TB for $99 from Target, although I don't know if its tested and approved(Working)

    THANK YOU Everyone at WiiHacks
This drive does NOT work for me.

    Size: 1TB (USB 3.0)
    Brand: Seagate Backup Plus
    Model:STDR1000100 (regular Model: SRD00F1)
    Format: Fat32 w/ 32kb cluster size
Firmware/Softmod: 4.3u/Softmod following Guide: Softmod ANY Wii
Loader: UsbLoader GX, Wiiflow & CFG all work fine
    Most Homebrew apps work
Had problems getting Hugo-Wii to run from it, also had probs with WiiColEm & Wii2600. But WiiMc, & the other popular Nintendo & Sega Emulators work fine.
