hi guys looking into modding another wii and im wondering if a drive i found here in canada @ bb would work. reason im asking is because the model # matches a drive on the list except one letter in the last part of it. drive im looking @ is the WD My Passport 500GB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive, model WDBKXH5000ABK-NESN, as the bb site has it listed, and its listed here in this thread as WDBKXH5000ABK-EESN. the NESN is what im wondering about as its showing as EESN here?

link to bb site-> WD My Passport 500GB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive (WDBKXH5000ABK-NESN) - Black : Portable External Hard Drives - Best Buy Canada

You would have to chance it, if you can't find it on any of the compatibility list. That's only if you want to chance it.

    Sent from my IPhone,Jax.

NESN = domestic (North America) and EESN = abroad (Europe).

So long as your voltage is the same as the USA's, yup - it'll work.

Interesting. Every attempt to make the "STBU500100" seagate 3.0 USB drive work has failed. And yet it is labeled as "working". It is conceivable that I have overlooked something, and perhaps my loader is the wrong version. I shall make sure that my version is up to date in the morning. However, I used the most up to date version in THIS thread located on this very site. And it is highly regarded as being the best, or close to it

Did you format the drive correctly? For example, to Fat32, or NTFS?

Lets assume that I'm very windows savvy Yes, NTFS. This same drive is used for multiple backups, that require the NTFS file system.

Oddly, in the past, the wii has been... less than picky. What I mean by that, is a purple kingston 4gb has always worked. Now it does not. Fat, NTFS, neither works. However, a 32gb patriot SD card in a USB SD reader works perfectly. I updated all my IOS's tonight via Wiimod. as well as CFG loader. Surely I'm overlooking something.

The same 4Gb kingston is working for windows transfers perfectly though :S

Are you trying to play the ISO directly, or is it already converted to .wbfs?
