Working/Not Working: Works like a charm. I mostly use Wiiflow, and the games that won't run on it can be run with USBLoader GX.

I forgot to mention that I have only tested it with Wii games and SNES ROM's (with SNES9X GX), which worked perfectly fine. As for Gamecube games, I haven't tested it yet.

Just finished softmodding my wii this morning and went out to Staples and bought the cheapest USB Flash Drive I could find just to try it, and surprisingly it works!

    Size: 16GB
    Brand: CoreMicro
    Model: ??
    Format: FAT32
Firmware/Softmod: 4.3U (sorry newb - I used the guide from these forums)
    Loader: USBLoaderGX

Played a few wii games from it for about an hour each, no problems whatsoever.

    ADDED

lol not sure who that is helping but for being a no-name brand I really didn't expect it to be compatible.

    Lacie Porsche Designs

Anyone tried any of the newer Lacie drives? Noticed not many in the list. Looking at the Porsche Design line, would look good sitting on my entertainment center. I see it has a power button, but wondered if it would power on by self when wii turns on.

Currently have black wii with Seagate USB 750gb, formated WBFS and it is almost full. Running latest updates on config usb and ios. Havent had any issues with the Segate, just running out of room.

If you've got the drive already, why not just try it? There's no downside, except it might not work. However, know that USB 3.0 drives are notoriously problematic with Wiis tho.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
Not purchased the drive yet, just that at 42 the price is ideal but I don't really want to buy a drive that's not been recommended.

I'm looking for a drive around this price that has a good chance of working, but I'm struggling to find anything currently in stock from the lists in the first thread.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
