So would you suggest me getting a new one because if I open it I can't return it.
guys how about Seagate STAY3000100 Expansion 3TB usb2.0?
Just finished softmodding my wii this morning and went out to Staples and bought the cheapest USB Flash Drive I could find just to try it, and surprisingly it works!
Firmware/Softmod: 4.3U (sorry newb - I used the guide from these forums)
Played a few wii games from it for about an hour each, no problems whatsoever.
lol not sure who that is helping but for being a no-name brand I really didn't expect it to be compatible.

Anyone tried any of the newer Lacie drives? Noticed not many in the list. Looking at the Porsche Design line, would look good sitting on my entertainment center. I see it has a power button, but wondered if it would power on by self when wii turns on.
Currently have black wii with Seagate USB 750gb, formated WBFS and it is almost full. Running latest updates on config usb and ios. Havent had any issues with the Segate, just running out of room.
Just wondering if anyone know if this drive is compatible?
Seagate 3TB Expansion Desktop Hard Drive
Seagate Expansion 3TB USB3.0 HDD STBV3000300
It would be great to get all my games on to 1 drive!

The Strontium Pollex 16GB pendrive works pretty nicely.
Red Wii SysMenuX, Priiloader 0.7, Bootmii as IOS 254, USB Loader GX, uLoader 5.1E with external DVD drive, MauiFrog softmod. HBC 1.1, Backup HBC 1.0.3.
Could anybody help me?
Ive had a search on the forum but have been unable to find whether the following drive would be compatible with my soft modded Wii:
Samsung M3 500GB USB 3.0 Slimline Portable Hard Drive,
If you've got the drive already, why not just try it? There's no downside, except it might not work. However, know that USB 3.0 drives are notoriously problematic with Wiis tho.
Not purchased the drive yet, just that at £42 the price is ideal but I don't really want to buy a drive that's not been recommended.
I'm looking for a drive around this price that has a good chance of working, but I'm struggling to find anything currently in stock from the lists in the first thread.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
