    Thumbs down

Western Digital My Book Essentials WDBACW0020HBK-NESN 2TB - (External Power Supply) - "Working"?
    I THINK NOT!!
    These are junk!
    Too much propieritary BS!
I had one file over 4 gb. and it cooked the drives partition and my PC will no longer reconize the drive!
Troubleshooted for 24 Hrs. WD tech support and even recovery software.
    Nothing.
Disk Manager will not even reconize drive to access partition!
This thing is waaay to propieritary to use on the wii.
The failure rates are SKY HIGH!
    WD USED to be awesome!
See... that old saying IS true:
    If its not broke....dont...
YUP..here are two links for any of you wanting to buy one of these DOORSTOPS.
Thankfully mine is still under warranty!
    -Edit-
These may be used. But I dont recommend it. However you MUST DISABLE THE "SPIN DOWN/SLEEP MODE" feature using the disc that came with it.
You must plug everything into the Wii before turning on either device.
I bought a seagate because its automatically powered on/off. If you know that flicking a light on an off can blow it; then you know what happens with these drives and your Wii..

Plug the device into the console before booting it and ensure the necessary modes are enabled/disabled. Few drives may need 'disc mode' enabled. Also note some drives are configured to have a power save mode. This causes the drive to spin down due to inactivity. Its highly recommended to disable this if you plan on using this for your wii. The drive may spin down in game and the game will cut off.
I'm sorry for the dumb question, but how do i configure the mods to set the hard drive to play?

    Can anyone help please?

My OCZ Diesel 2.0 8GB isn't supported. It wouldn't even let me copy an ISO to the drive. But today, I formatted it to WBFS format, and it let me put an ISO under the same compression onto it. Any idea if it will play?
