    Question Question

The Seagate goflex 1T works with everything except it has a problem with usb loaded games freezing on major loading spots. Anybody know if that is just a USB 3.0 issue?

I did a 1TB WD HDD with USB 3.0 and it works all day. ...So, I'm betting it's not because it's USB 3.0.

I've had freezing issues with the new USB 3.0 500GB Seagates, though. But I think it's the drive, not the USB 3.0. I just read that some Seagates might have an auto-shutoff mode that needs disabling. I'm going to try that tonight on a drive.

The drive I'm having freezing issues with:
    Brand: Seagate
    Model: STAA500103
    Red
    USB 2.0/3.0
    500 GB

Except my friend bought the exact same drive with a 2.0 and it works just fine. And i used his drive with the same usb games on my wii with my sd card and all the games worked fine. The only difference between mine and his is the 2.0 vs. the 3.0. But mine does randomly freeze for only a split second while watching movies with it on my xbox or listening to music. i think that is where the freezing in the game comes from but I have no idea how to fix it.

    Loader: USB Loader GX 2.2
Working ... but only after using Seagate's utility to turn off the auto-shutoff

The games would freeze after a few minutes and I had this problem with a black drive exactly like this one.

I went to FreeAgent | Go, FreeAgent | Desk, FreeAgent | XTreme | Seagate, downloaded, and installed the utility.

After running it on my PC, I noticed that the auto-shutoff was set to 5 minutes. You change this setting without adding any files to your drive.

I haven't had issues with the drive since.

I checked this list, and um... My Iomega eGo 1TB works fine for absolutely everything. It runs backups, homebrew apps, media on WiiMC.... I don't see why it is listed as not working

I can confirm these issues, however, AFTER doing what thestas said in his post (downloading the Seagate application and setting the auto-shutoff to never), the drive works perfectly.

    Here are my drive specifics;

    Brand: Seagate
    Model: STAA1000101
    Color: Black
    USB 3.0/2.0
    1TB
    Drive Format: WBFS
    CFG USB Loader
    Firmware: 4.1U
