    Hi folks,
I'm using a 320gb WD my passport essentials (whole drive is FAT32 formatted) on 4.1e using Wiiflow v1.1(222) and it work FLAWLESSLY. The drive is almost full to capacity (took about 6 to 7 hours to transfer all data onto drive) and I have played a number of the latest release games for multiple hours without a glitch (inc black ops, 007 etc)

    I have a question:
Is drive compatibility still a major issue now that its no longer necessary to WBFS format the drive (i.e use FAT32 instead)?
I ask this because I have a buffalo ministation lite 320gb that I would like to use with my GFs Wii, but it is full of data (which I need and would have to transfer across to other locations before FAT32 formatting it). I have checked the compatibility list and I don't see this drive mentioned. Can anyone confirm if this drive is good before I start transferring GBs all over the place?
    Cheers.

    Thumbs up

    Size: 2 TB
    Brand:
    Iomega
    Model:
    Select Desktop Hard Drive
    Enclosure:
erm... Standard, I guess?--it's an 'external' drive which came in its own enclosure, not an internal drive for which I had to get a separate enclosure.
    Format:
Single partition (full 2 TB), formatted to FAT32 (following Krank's & Cile's "FAT32 Hard Drives - Formatting, Loading, Ripping, Playing" guide, including setting the partition to primary/active, etc - thank you Krank and Cile!)
Firmware/Softmod: mauifrog's "Softmod ANY Wii" guide applied on a used/virgin v4.2 Wii (thank you, mauifrog!). Also applied Krank's "Update the Shopping Channel to v20" guide to my Wii's mod (thank you again, Krank!). All with no problems.
Loader: So far I've only tried it with the "Configurable USB Loader" (has a channel on my Wii), which was one of the suggested loaders in mauifrog's softmod tutorial.
Working/Not Working: Working perfectly so far.

The following are some additional notes and minor issues relating to applications, and the fixes that worked for me. Although the drive itself and gaming have both worked fine, I thought I'd share this additional info in case anyone else runs into similar issues trying to use other applications in conjunction with an HDD.

    Issues Retrieving Game Covers:

    Spoiler

Issues Installing Wads from HDD (as opposed to SD Card):

    Spoiler

Issues Regarding Recognition of the HDD in "WiiMC Media Player" (for playing movies & music):

    Spoiler

Moral to this story, I guess:

    Spoiler

Seeing as this (500GB) model doesn't seem to be listed on the GBATemp list, and is only mentioned once here, I thought for confirmation, it would be worth me posting that I just bought one of these drives and so far it's working well for me.

I've only done loading, playing and short gameplay bursts, but if I come across any fatal flaws I'll post back.

Pretty much ANY Micronet/FANTOM drive works right now. Have tried ALL of these and they work fine. When you can get these on sale, they are a steel for ~$100 and they have a FAST ESata port! The drives currently shipping have changed form WD to SAMSUNG drives, but they still work!

Working/Not Working: Working flawlessly [read/write roughly 20h of gameplay total] with EU power adapter, not working with a 75W stepdown power converter (guess USB ports are undervolted).
