    Working drive/enclosure

Western Digital 160GB IDE (WD1600JB-55REA0) in KONIG Portable 3.5" HDD enclosure (CMP-MOBSTOR22)

Tested with USB Loader GX, no problems at all. Played Resident Evil 4 without problems or special settings.
Jumper on the HDD was on Slave

    EDIT//
My wii has been on half the day now, playing different games (all of them over an hour each I think).
Only problem I had was SSX Blur not loading right the first time (graphical glitch, happened time to time with backup discs also), switching to IOS 223 to start it seemed to work (but then rebooting it in IOS249 might've worked also as the same occured with discloading sometimes)

    edit2/
If anyone still cares, same info in the format asked for below

    Size: 160GB
    Brand: Western Digital
    Model: WD1600JB-55REA0
Enclosure: KONIG Portable 3.5" HDD enclosure (CMP-MOBSTOR22)
Format: Tested both WBFS and FAT32 (whole drive)
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.1E/hermes v4/cIOS38rev17
Loader: USB loader GX and configurable USB loader

I had it as WBFS running on GX first, but switched to FAT32 and cfg loader later on.
I ran mainly on IOS249 on GX, think I had cIOS38 rev17 (judging from files on my SD)
I run it on hermes v4 in cfg now

Neither setup has given me any trouble besides the SSX problem descibed above.

I can also confirm that the 1TB Iomega Select already on the list works as well. Works as WBFS format with softmod with Configurable USB Loader v59 & WiiFlow v1.1.

    If you'll believe this...

    Size: 20 GB
    Brand: Apple iPod
Model: 3RD GENERATION! This is the one with the four buttons under the screen!
Enclosure: Just the factory casing it's in.
Format: Done as "MS-DOS FAT32" in Mac Disk Utility
Firmware/Softmod: Menu running at 4.3u, cannot remember the cIOS for the life of me.
    Loader: USBLoader CFG

Tested: Lego Indiana Jones, NHL 2K10, Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii

    Everything runs perfectly.

I had to enable to HDD portion of it like this:

    1) Run Mac Disk Utility
    2) Ran Verify and Repair first.
    3) Formatted as MS-DOS FAT32
    4) In iTunes (which automatically comes up), enabled Drive Mode, DISABLED AUTO MUSIC SYNC (which you need to do, or else all your music is gonna load to the iPod automatically)
    5) Disconnected the iPod from the Mac
    6) Turned on the Wii
    7) Plugged in the 3rd Gen iPod. Now here's where it's kinda fun - this thing ran off a two-pronged wire system. I plugged the iPod into the USB port (the one next to the side edge) and the other cord, which leads to old school Firewire goes into one of the Apple charging blocks so it charges as it plays.
    8) Loaded Homebrew Channel
    9) Loaded USBLoader CFG

It picked up my drive perfectly.

Everything works fine BUT there is a caveat: the 20GB Third Gen iPod doesn't like USB 2.0. I have not yet found a way to get it to work with the WBFS Manager.

Not to say it won't...but you've been warned.

I know the drive is already on this list...but I wanted to do an update and I hope it helps.

    Took on this daunting task:

    Size: 500 GB
    Brand: Seagate
    Model: FreeAgent Desk
    Enclosure: Factory
    Format: FAT32 & WBFS
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.3u (Don't know CIOS)
Loader: USBLoader CFG AND USB Loader GX

I will cut out the crap I went through to get this done. Suffice to say, I am a n00b and didn't know what the hell I was doing for four hours. The jist of this was that I erased by drive completely and then took the following steps:

    HOW I DID THIS
    1) Mac Disk Utility
    2) Click on "Partition" Tab
    3) Set "Volume Scheme" to "1 Partition".
    4) Click on "Options" below.
    5) Set this for "Master Boot Record" so that a PC can read the drive.
    6) Formatted with all options set.
    7) Unplugged the drive from the Mac and plugged it into a Sony VAIO running Windows XP.
    8) IN WBFS Manager for Windows, I loaded up the drive (on mine, it was "Drive F"), and then hit "Format".
    9) The drive formatted and told me it was now ready for WBFS.
    10) Unplugged the drive AGAIN from the PC and plugged it all back into the Mac again.
    11) Ran WBFS for Mac OS X and was able to detect the drive.
    12) Added whatever IOS games I had on the drive.
    13) Unplugged the drive and plugged it into the Wii WHILE THE WII SYSTEM MENU WAS RUNNING.
    14) Launched The Homebrew Channel.

Now...from here, you can use whichever loader you'd like. I tested this with both USBLoader CFG and USB Loader GX and found that both of them say, when they launch, that there is "no partition detected". You actually have to select the created partition and go from there.

From there, both loaders work fine.

Games Tested: NHL Slapshot, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

If it's all right, I will do some more testing and follow up and edit this.

But, just to let everyone know, the 500 GB Seagate FreeAgent Desk does work...hopefully, I won't get any issues as I am hearing from others.

I hit the first time the drive just stopped working.

If this has not been posted before, then the FreeAgent Desk HDD sleeps after you let it sit idle with no activity. There's no bump that allows it to wake back up so what you have to do is unplug the power cable and then plug it back in. Not sure how healthy that is for the drive but that's the only workaround I can see thus far.
