    80 gb 2.5" IDE HDD
    Toshiba - MK8032GAX
    in a
    Daewoo International FHD-256
    usb adapter
tested on WiiFlow and USBLoader GX
works all day long. no problems
    but
does not work as a fat/ntfs partition. apps see the wbfs partition and think it's a fat partition.
have to use sd card for apps with this hdd setup. but games play all dday.

    WD Elements 1.5 TB 3.5" WDBAAU0015HBK
    works on Wiiflow and USBLoader_GX
works with fat 32 partition for apps,
works with ntfs partition for mplayerCE and WiiMC
tested over 1 and half hours...and counting on 4.1U

    Seagate FreeAgent GO 320GB

    Size: 320GB
    Brand: Seagate
    Model: FreeAgent GO - ST903203FAA2E1-RK
Format: Tried with Single WBFS partition, and WBFS/FAT32 partition
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.2U, cIOS r17, cIOSr19, HERMES v5 (IOS222) etc...
    Loader: USB Loader GX

Went through all kinds of shenanigans, could not load install to HDD using USB Loader GX, or WiiFlow and original disc. Tried Mario Party 8, MySims Kingdom, A Boy and His Blob. All died during install roughly 200MB in. (Install time on USB Loader GX jumped to several days as install rate fell). Tried checking drive for errors, reformatting extFAT, FAT32, NTFS, before formatting with WBFS, none had any effect.

Exchanged the drive for a 320GB WD MyPassport Essentials (WDBAAA3200ABK 320 GB), used WD software to disable VCD, formatted with WBFS, and was able to install MySims Kingdom without a hitch. Booted up a game but did not play past intro screen.

Wasted a whole day with a bum incompatible drive!!!

    Thumbs up

Thank you admin/staff very much for maintaining this list, and thank you to all the members that have contributed to it.

I was going to pick up a drive without thinking, did a search online and found this page, printed out the list and brought it to the store with me.

I got the Seagate Freeagent 500GB, it was no problem to format it in WBFS Manager 3.0 (not sure if that is where the problem drives start giving problems)

transferred some of my ISOs over to it

hooked it up to the wii

ran usbloaderGX, and just started up one of my games without needing the disk

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Can you not make requests in this thread and instead start your own as the thread is starting to become cluttered with irrelevant iformation and is making it hard for me to find the required info amongst the crap.
