I think its about time I report my drive.

    WD Passport Elite 500gb
    p/n WD5000MLBP-00 1110A

Works loading games form WBFS, FAT32, or NTFS. The only annoying little thing is that HBC will only recognize it if I plug it in after it has loaded. However, I have no issues with HB apps reading and writing to it.

This is a generic 3.5" IDE External

    Brand: Vantec
    Model: Nexstar 2
    Format: 300GB WBFS Partition
    Firmware/Softmod: 3.3U --> 4.1U, cIOS38 r17
    Loader: NeoGamma R8 RC3S

Have an old 300GB Seagate IDE inside, and have played various backups from it for hours. No stability problems observed.

    Ca

After following the very in depth soft modding guide and downloading/loading the latest USB Loader GX and WBFS Manager, I allocated 40gigs of my 1.5tb Western Digital My Book Home Edition to be dedicated to WBFS. I trialed a couple games including Final Fantasy CC ~ New Super Mario Bros and Tasunoku vs Capcom. I played TvC for well over an hour with no issues.

~Note: I've been running USB Loader GX through the homebrew channel (I dont mind the extra wait) however if requested i could install it as a channel and test run the HD again.

Western Digital My Book Home Edition WMAVU0290787 1.5TB

Edit: Forgot to mention that this worked when following the 3.1-4.1 guide completely (Starting from 3.4U). Therefore this works on 4.1

Wow, no 2TB HDs yet... anywho. After I used gen3sf's tut (thx : ) :::

    Brand: Cavalry
    Series: CAXB
    Model: CAXB3702T3
    Capacity: 2TB
    Format: ~1.7TB NTFS Partition/ ~200GB WBFS Partition
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.2U

    Loader: USB Loader GX (r916 - ULNR.wad)
    Installed: cIOS38r17, Hermes cIOS 222 v5

Out of the six games I have, 5 ran perfectly; played one with codes successfully. The only one giving me grief is Sakura Wars for Wii, it has to be because of its size of 6.02GB (would need a DL Disc to play it at ~8GB). Longest time played with one game was 2 hours.

Note 1: At some point the Wiimote was acting weird, but removing and reinserting the batteries did the trick.

Note 2: The game froze at times when I was messing around with some codes (Fragile Dreams), but I found a way around it.

    Brand: Lacie
    Model: N2870
    Capacity: 300gb
    Format: 280GB wbfs, 10GB fat32, 10GB NTFS
    Firmware/Softmod: 4.2E

    Loader: Wii Flow 222
    Installed: cIOS38r17

WBFS partition marked as primary and active, plugged into bottom usb port and powered on wii but didnt get any drive recognition when starting up wii flow 249 so tried it with the 22 version.
Locked up on the loading screen.
Turned HDD off and it asked for a usb device to be plugged in turned drive on and it was picked up but saying there were no games, installed game from disk and every thing now works.
Can use wbfs manager to add games.
Played for over 2 hours without problems.
Have been having an issue with going back to the wii menu on a couple of games where it black screens me but not sure if this is the drive or not.

Also once the drive is recognised by starting it with wii flow 222 you can exit wii flow and use the latest USB Loader GX if you want to.

Have played many games without issues including Guitar Hero 5
