Make sure you are using the correct bannerbomb files, that would be BB1.
If your on 4.1 you can use BB1 and BB2, which are loaded different. Also, there are 5 BB1 to try and 3 BB2 to try if needed. It sound like you used BB2 and tried to load BB1.

Ugh. I totally thought that the first link in your post was BB1 and not the other way around. My mistake. Sorry. And thanks.

So, I managed to install the new HBC and BootMii, but I wasn't able to make an NAND backup (SD card too small). Is it really bad if I don't make a backup immediately, since I don't have a "large" size SD card right now? Are there any more steps I had to follow after the NAND backup (like some finishing touches or something)? Because I don't see any more relevant steps.

Also, what was the use of installing BootMii? I mean, it's a nice program in case my Wii might brick or something, but it's not necessary to run HBC, is it? Now I keep getting the BootMii menu whenever I start up my Wii... Is there any way for me to turn that off? I'd like to immediately boot into system menu.

Think of a NAND as a picture of your Wii as it is now. If something was to happen to your Wii you could possibly use bootmii to restore that Backup (NAND) to make your Wii as it was when you took the picture.

Oh, no. I understand that. However, this isn't exactly needed for HBC, is it?
I think it's a bit odd to find this in this guide, since this is a guide to get HBC installed, not some brick protection.
Don't get me wrong; I am happy for this extra protection I got now, it's just that I question why it's needed for HBC.

Oh, and somehow, it now autoboots into System Menu again... So yay. I'm totally happy now. Only need to get my NAND backup somehow.

It's not needed to run HBC although the new HBC installer does install Bootmii as an IOS automatically (don't ask me why). Bootmii is just a part of the Hackmii installer pack.

I would install it if you haven't or leave it installed if it is. It will not hurt anything to have it installed. As soon as you get a card big enough to make a backup of your NAND I highly recommend it. It could save your Wii someday.

    If you delete sd:\bootmii
Bootmii will not load when you turn on your wii.
You need sd:\bootmii to load bootmii, so save it to your pc.

I am trying to install version 0.8.

I tried reinstalling the IOS from this thread before the latest HBC version came out and that didn't help. I also tried installing the the latest version and still no luck.
