This is your ideal solution. You also have broken IOS 249 Rev 13 installed (Rev 17 for dual layer or Rev 14 for non-dual layer; 17 covers both).

I'm sorry, i didn't quite understand the broken IOS parts. I don't have cIOSCORP though. I never installed it. As the link did say, it can cause irreparable damage to my wii. Can i get a little guidance here or there?

Look at my post count, look at my status. I say this not to boast, but rather to make a point. You do indeed have cIOSCorp installed. Now you can choose to believe this or not, that's entirely up to you. Notice how your IOS revisions are all maxed out? Hmmm... I wonder what causes that.

Correction: I don't know if i have CIOSCORP. I didn't install it but maybe it came with it?

Alright. I got it. I do believe you. Thanks mate. Didn't mean to offend or anything. You've gotten me out of the initial mess I was in. I really do appreciate the help. Sorry.

Ithian's guide I linked you to is for the safe method of removal --- go take a read and if you don't understand ask questions within that thread. The IOS reference relates to your softmod; most softmods use Waninkoko's cIOS (aka IOS 249) to play backups. Our 4.2 softmod guides use Rev -14 (the guides on this particular part really need updated to Rev -17). The single 3.1-4.1 guide uses IOS 249 Rev -17. You can find these under the Recommended Guides section of the site.

    Help installing Homebrew Channel

    Hi

I am running System menu 4.2E - Europe. Trying to Softmod my wii.

I had homebrew intially installed and everything was setup working. However i decided to install cIOScorp as it had a file that had all the wads available so i thought it would be a good idea to install.

Unfortunately this screwed up everything, i then thought id reformat the system menu and settings and i reinstalled 4.2E using the wii update.

I then had the normal wii channels. And i tried to install BannerBomb softmod again. However this is when the problems start to occur. I get the error

    "No vulnerable IOS" error

I tried the DOP MII thread on here by mauifrog but that does not work too as it says "it cant sign an IOS on either IOS36 or IOS 249.

All i want to try and do is factory reset everything so i can install the bannerbomb again. Is there a way to get all the IOS back to factory default?

I must admit im a complete noob as i only bought my wii few days ago and am just learning. I kno i should have dont a NAND backup. All i want is the original IOS back and a way to reset them all. I have NUS Downloader but have no idea on how to get the sd card to update the files.
