    So my question is

do I just do all the formatting part of the HD first

then hit the clone drive button

and that should be all I need to do or what? Any info would be really appreciated.
Yes, but first connect the 2 drives to your PC, fire up WBFS Manager, load the source drive in top window, load the destination drive in bottom window then hit clone.

Just hitting clone without loading the drives would not do it

And yes we know, it is painfully slow

how do i get the covers that i download to load up in wii flow they show up in wbfs manager when i click on the game they are png files
That is the right format for the cover files; they should also be named with the correct 6 digit ID code that matches the ID code of the games. (ExampleChicken Blaster is R8LE20 so the cover for that game would be R8LE20.png.

WiiFlow file structure should already have folders for you to copy the .png files and if not, create them. You may need to also change the file pathname so that WiiFlow knows where you put the cover files: SD:\wiiflow\covers. If you downloaded the boxcovers and are using an SD card it would be SD:\wiiflow\boxcovers. If USB:\wiiflow\covers. (or boxcovers as correct for your download).

Hey guys, dunno if this is the right thread to ask this. I tried to get the hard drive loader to work to work for both of my external HDDs, it said both of their discs were difficult or slow.

The truth is, I don't need to have a lot of games on my hard drive at once. I was thinking, could I just get an 8GB USB Drive and put one game at a time on it?

Yes, and you will prob get 4 games, or more, on that stick.

Try leaving it at FAT32 and see how it goes, you may also wish to try WBFS and then see which one you prefer or works best for you.

You may end up getting a bigger stick if it all goes well

    I'm helping a friend with a softmoded friend, and it's gonna use a 16 gb usb-stick.

Is it possible to run wad-manager, homebrew channel and USB loader Gx from the usb-stick instead of a SD-card?

    Thanks.

Shall I format everything to FAT32, or just a smaller part, like 512 MB?

And, do I have to reinstall my homebrew channel or something like that, to be able to lauch the homebrews like normal? I mean, they have been on a SD-card before?

    Thanks.

if your planning to use wbfs manager. try a 11 to 1 split, it depends what you plan to use it for. Just drag the files across from your sd to hdd Fat32 you my have to look around for some different versions for some apps. homebrew should find the apps on the hdd it just takes slightly longer to load.

Well, I have used wbfs manager now, because I formated the stick to wbfs. But if I format it to both wbfs, and FAT32, can I then use the FAT32 part just the way I used the SD-card, and the wbfs-part just the way I have it now?

No, what I understand you to be saying is not normal. As I understand your question, you are installing from game disc to the WBFS-formatted HDD/partition via the Wii DVD Drive using USB Loader GX. All your games are showing in WBFS Mgr as using 8.45GB. Not even if all three of your games were the dual-layer games would they all have identical sizes.

SSSB-6.98GB; I don't yet have the size for the Metroid Prime Trilogy as that is dual layer too. I don't have an explanation for your discrepancy except that sometimes the files get screwed up in display-the game files are often just fine, just the display of data as I have seen occasionally. Sometimes it just goes away. As I said, I do not know the reason for this, but is is not seen very often. Luck you, right? I hope the games are playing alright for you, though.

Perhaps either use a different revision of USB Loader GX or try a different USB Loader altogether to see if anything changes? Here is a link in case you want to explore other USB Loader GX revisions: [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]. The channel wad files are to be installed with Wad Manager; .dol files are to be renamed as boot.dol and placed inside a named folder and then placed inside the Apps folder. If SD card file structure as such: SD://Apps/USBLoaderGXrevXXX/boot.dol.
thanks for your reply! that's right i am installing from game disc to the WBFS-formatted HDD/partition via the Wii DVD Drive using USB Loader GX! nope none of the games are dual :- the games are
    RDSE70 Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 8964MB
    R3TP54 Top Spin 3 8964MB
    RWWE78 WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 8964MB

and its not the display error either my disk is using that actual space i have even tried to extract the games to my PC- size its saving is 8.75 GB
Yes! I am being able to play all the games though!
alright i ll try this with the latest version of usb loader as i am not aware which other loader have disk backup ability!

i hope its safe to install usb loader's latest version " Revision 909, compiled at Tue Feb 9 11:22:38 UTC 2010 - These channels are untested by the team, and can easily brick your Wii! "
    though i have bootmii installed
