You were already answered on this very issue in another thread. Do you think b/c you ask the very same question again somewhere else that the answer will magically change? See Gen3SF's reply to you here. And "knock it off," as the saying goes...

    1) Did you check the compatibility threads? yes, check. (my hd works, according to the list)
    2) Did you try wad manager 1.4 as suggested? yes, check (i got the same error as i did in 1.5)
    3) Did you check the USB HD thread to make sure the drive it setup/formatted correctly? couldn't really find the thread, but im pretty sure i setted it up correctly. i did a search from my start menu for 'computer management', then brought down the submenu from 'storage' and then into 'disk management'. after that, from my usb hdd, i right-clicked my other non-wbfs partition(ntfs) and went into shrink volume to make a partition of 10 gb fat32, but currently right now the WBFS drive is set to the active partition, i think.

ps: sorry for triple-posting due to what i had posted in earlier posts.

can someone enlighten me on this one
system menu 4.1 ntsc-u usb loader gx this happens when i am doing basically anything when i installed the home-brew it gave me these errors but it installed fine or so i thought.

I can play games from the hdd just fine even from the disc but i wasn't supposed to be able to play back up disc with this serial number on the wii. Did something not install right maybe i should reinstall everything again
I think i figured it out i reinstalled cios38 r17 and everything is fine now no more errors of any kind.

man it feels good im getting better at problem solving when i mod wiis
I even upgraded my 3 wii's to 4.2 and remodded them they work fine.

    1029:
Wad Install Error Most likely have cIOS 37 (or other outdated/incorrect IOS) still installed. Memory might be full. Wad may be corrupt (patched/injected incorrectly).
    Q. How do I fix this Error?
    A. Fix it by uninstalling IOS249 (use AnyTitleDeleter) if you have it installed. Try using Custom Wad Manager, as some cIOS may be incompatible with the normal Wad Manager. Try a different wad.

my friend got this error and deleted ios249 and reinstalled cios38rev17 but now usblosder gx doesnt recognise her harddrive

I'm using this tutorial http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-4-2-wii.html to mod my wii. When I get to step 5 I load cIOS38-rev, pick IOS36 press A. Then pick network install and press A. Then close to the end of the install I get:

    Installing Custom IOS, please wait…
    Install ERROR! (ret = -1035)

I see that in this thread to fix this I should do steps 1-3 of the tutorial I'm using to mob my Wii. My question is after I redo 1-3 over again, do I go back to step 5 where I got the error?

@robgee - could be the configuration file for USB Loader GX is corrupt or failed to update for the new Wii configuration. Try uninstalling USB Loader GX and reinstalling rev 919-that is a few revs back from the most current and I know that rev 919 works with IOS249rev17. To be sure that the USB loader's config file is clean- look for it and delete it-it will recreate itself on first loading of USB Loader GX.

In the context of 4.2, the 1035 error code means that the IOS249 stubbed IOS was not excised so that a new cIOS installer can install a new functional cIOS there. Re-try the removal of the stubbed IOS249 and try some of the alternative download packs in the full hacking guide for 4.2 tutorial.

we worked out that if she put the hadr drive in while gx counts down it finds it but it used to work all the time so we tried what you said and theres no change
