DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or incorrect cios/neogamma version. If you are laready using Verbatim DVD-r burned at 4x, try switching to neogammar6 and cios36rev10 (will not work for new wiis/this has worked only for LU39 models). Also this error will persist on newer wiis, meaning that they have the new D2-3 chip which cannot read backups at all. Only option for them is USB loading.
    ...
Should be D3-2 chip according to this list.

I think the "dvd read error 1053" section needs to be updated. I am suffering from this problem also but I only say this because I have been reading up on ways to fix this problem and I have seen conflicting information given by the staff here for one reason or another.

In the error index in this thread, the advice to remedy the problem is to install 'cIOS36 rev10' and neogamma r6. So, ideally a member here would search for the Neogamma r6 download link and instructions which can be found here:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/software-bac...ogamma-r6.html

A common error seen in installing Neogamma r6 is 1053. (NOT 'dvd read error 1053'). Dogeggs, a staff here, states that 'cios38 r14' is to be installed in order for Neogamma r6 to work. Dogeggs suggest 'neogamma r6 + cios38 r14' combination and the error index suggests 'neogamma r6 + 'cIOS36 rev10' combination. this is confusing. Unfortunately for the staff as well.... feedback?

Edit: yes I meant 1035 instead of 1053. <- NO, that is wrong. it is dvd error 1053

No, the error is "dvd read error 1053" not 1035. I just re-corrected my typo because it wasn't a typo. My initial post was correct. I just checked the wii again myself instead of being lazy. I am so sleepy that is why I can't concentrate. but for the record the error IS 'dvd read error 1053' NOT '1035'. But I am hoping a staff here can either update the entry for 'dvd read error 1035' or clarify my concerns, please. i'm getting some sleep now....

ps - if you don't believe me, i can take a picture of it and post it....
