    By any chance, are you trying to access the disc through the disc channel?

    I have been reading several hundred pages about the preloader:

    Some users are saying it broken there wii and files not loading etc....

    One mod said to another user that it really wasnt needed as all it was did was block updates and you are giving the option to say no to the updates anyway.

    So I thought i might just do the normal way installing the needed ios and the neogamma in order to play games.

    As I have installed the ios60 patched and the firmware updater to 4.1 installed all the ios except 50 which i will do manually and the neogammer and leave it at that.

    Do you think its recommended mods ?

    Question HBC is upsidedown

    Hi, I went through this guide and made the whole installation as said, my wii was 3.4u and after doing everything in the guide and epdating to 4.1u and installing the update for the HBC, something happened, everything else is working well, the only exception is that when I open the HBC it appears upsidedown. Is there anyway I can fix this and for what I have read no one else has gone through this. tried reinstalling but it won't let me do that. Any advice is aprecciated.

    Just follow the instructions on the 4.1 update after you have made the full installation, it is easy, you need to have internet connection so that it can download the files needed.

    You must go to HBC, then WAD MANAGER, when the screen opens check that settings is set to IOS249 & SD CARD, then select IOS60-patched and then install pressing the A button. After you have done that you can update your wii with no problem. You must also have installed all other files here IOS38, ETC.....

    It is not recommended to restore your NAND if you have Bootmii installed as an IOS.

    what does this mean?

    and where is the nand backup? its the nand.bin right? does it include keys.bin and installer log?

    Bootmii installed as IOS is less effective in recovering from a brick because HBC is needed to access bootmii. Additionally, restoring the NAND with a program that needs to reside in the IOS is not as reliable a restore.

    The NAND backup is indeed the NAND.bin file-you can tell as it should be about 530MB; the creation of a separate keys.bin was a bug generated in a previous bootmii version.

    It isn't that uncommon an issue and you could have located a little thread on the topic. That is if your screen has a search box-mine doesn't right now.

    The flipped HBC screen is a prank by the Homebrew crew because of their disapproval of piracy. If a reinstall of HBC did not fix the upside-down screen, the next step is to ID the IOS used (it's often IOS36) -it's on the HBC screen and replace it with a clean copy. Usually not recommended to replace with the latest version of the IOS as that would be a system 4.2 version.

    If by "did this" you are referring to this tutorial. I see you are following the DVD recommendations too. You report your Wii is new. You may have one of the Wiis tat have the D3-2 chip, a chip that prevents the Wii drive from reading DVD-R backup discs.

    The workaround is to use an external USB HDD: <link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5Cmpq%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtm l1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {colorurple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]--> [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]<o></o>
