I Totally Bricked my wii !!! Got another wii coming that I purchased on ebay for the motherboard .

My question is this . Should I run the savemii and the Nintendo Recovery Disc on it so it's fresh or just leave it as is ? I don't want to cause more damage to the new board .

Hope you can help, i currently have a bricked Wii, after i removed .wad file that was banner crashing my Wii.

So need to do a Savemiiffii boot trick.

I tried this on my wii key v2 modded wii when nothing else would work. It was bricked from trying to put 4.0 themes on my system and bricked my wii to freeze on the first screen. I followed the directions by selecting delete, and after that nothing happens. I can get to the black screen with the firmware number in the bottom right, but nothing else. even if i just try and start it regular nothing happens, just a completely black screen. Any ideas?

the 4 Button recovery mode works for my other wii (wich is OK btw)

is there another chance to unbrick it ?

Hi MattMan69, you mention on 4.0 you were able to boot the Universal-Unbrick Disc v2. So did you do this on an unbricked Wii or confirm this worked on a bricked Wii? I am unable to get to boot on a bricked Wii with 4.0(EUR). I installed a bad wad it seems as imedialtely after I can only get the Health Screen. When pressing A button I hear the menu music then nothing, just a blank screen. Thanks in advance. Regards, Graham.

Yea I was able to boot the Universal-Unbrick Disc v2 on a bricked Wii on 4.0 I guess it all depends on what you have installed on your Wii if you'll beable to boot it or not. If you could run trucha signed discs then you can boot the UUD disc. If not then I'm not sure what to tell ya.

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. What is a trucha signed disc and how do I make the Wii boot one? I have homebrew installed is about all. I setup an external USB hard drive to play games. Worked a treat. But then I installed a wad to install a Forwarder into a Channel to load the hard drive games menu directly instead of having to load the menu from the Homebrew Channel and that's when it happened Should I be able to boot the UUD disc after just loading a bad Forwarder wad? If I give you the wad do you think you might be able to help me? Regards, Graham.

Sorry to say but the last wii update that allowed Trucha signed discs was update v3.2 Even if you had installed the homebrew channel trucha discs will not work unless booted from the homebrew channel . If you are not familiar with what trucha signed discs are , well they are custom discs that utilized a hole in the wii software that enabled the wii to read custom content . update v3.3 patched the hole trucha used . As far as hearing your audio and not seeing video , sounds like the video region got changed . not sure how you will fix that without doing further damage . From what I heard , was that if video region has ben changed or updated incorrectly , you might as well consider it as a full brick . If you didn't know what trucha sined discs were to begin with , you probabaly shouldn't have been messing with homebrew in the first place . No offence , just an observation . Am saying this because I did my research and still made mine into a full brick just cause I was in a hurry and didn't verify I selected the correct downgrader file from hombrew . Wrong versions of firmware can cause serious issues from what I had learned . The chip on the motherboard called "nand" had gotten so severely corrupt , there was no saving it . Had to find a cheap used wii just for the motherboard . Cheap meaning $150+ . Food for thought people , and a little insight .

Sounds like research into Truca discs is of no use anyway whether messing with homebrew or not, seen as my Wii was above v3.3. I only hear the Wii Channel music for a seocnd then it stops. Ocasionally I see the Wii Channels for a split second as well then all is black and no sound. The Homebrew software worked fine, it was the Forwarder wad that screwed up. I think if I can boot from a recovery disc somehow I would be able to uninstall the Frowarder wad and all will be good, however getting it to boot with v4.0 is the problem. I have tried the SaveMii which gets to the version 4.0(EUR) in the lower right corner of the screen but still cannot boot the Universal-Unbrick Disc v2. Any ideas please....

do you have a wiikey or drivekey mod ? If not you will need one to boot the recovery discs . no way around it .
