hey,
I have a LU65 wii update 4.0 and it is modded. i wish to install homebrew and get wad manager, but i don't want to have dvdx or anything else like that. Could i please have some steps on how to do this?

I have an issue where I am unable to read genuine discs. I receive an error saying unable to read disc. The second issue I have is installing VC they say this channel cannot be used.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, first off all i'd like to thank Dogeggs for this guide.

My question is : Ive already installed HBC on a lu65 3.4U using the twilight hack and IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad with wad manager, but when i try to load custom wad manager i get black screen...So im stuck.

So now i was wondering should i start over from scratch ?
Should i upgrade to 4.0U using waninkoko's upgrader or should i stick to 3.4U?

It only tells you that a vc game can't be used because its not in your region, this happened to me ages ago. I suggest using this site to download wiiware and vc games: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

Thanks now I need to figure out why the Wii will not read original games.

Hey all, Dogeggs, I have a few questions:

I have a LU65 Wii with firmware 3.4U, chipped with wasabi zero.
I installed the HBC via the bannerbomb hack, then proceeded to start using Wad Manager 1.4.
But each time I tried to install a WAD (game), I got "Error = -2011".

So I found this tutorial supposed to fix the problem: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
and started doing it. I stopped at step 5: run CMDVDX34 ("Downgrade IOS35"). It actually downgraded IOS35 succesfully.

(using Title Lister, I see: 23: Title=1-23 (IOS35) vers. 4.16 (1040))

I then realised that I have a LU65 Wii and must use the LU64 fix! (I think? )

My question is: can I use your LU64 fix, even though I already ran CMDVDX34 and downgraded IOS35 succesfully on my LU65 fw 3.4u ?

Are there any risks? If so, how should I restore the original IOS35 before I can use the IOS36 patch? (how would I do so? :/)

First of all, thank you Dogeggs for the fix and providing continual support.

Now, let me first start by saying I'm an idiot and used the Dummies guide to try to softmod my my LU65, which didn't occur to me would pose a problem.

Things I've tried:

I tried setting up my internet connection and connected just fine, disabled Wiiconnect24 and tried it again. Nope.

Tried on a different SD card. Nope.

Already mentioned tried to go through WAD manager. Nope.

Should I try uninstalling IOS249? I hear it's risky and I can brick my Wii.

I read on other forums someone with the same issue, but nobody seemed to have an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Someone directed me to this thread - now I'm currently having the following issues:

The problem is now is that I am unable to boot the WadManager from the fix. It just freezes at the "clearing BSS" - same thing that happens when I try to load the batch installer. Then it needs a hard reset.

Booting to the customWM from the fix files is fine - Says that IOS16 is detected, and it goes through the menu fine.

I choose SD card as source device to install and then it brings up all the WAD files. But even though I can move the cursor to choose the file (LU64), pressing A doesn't do anything.

It doesn't freeze - I can still navigate back and whatnot, but it won't actually install the file.

If it's worth mentioning - everything else on my console seems to be working fine. The game tells me I need an update to play (which I have not done yet, wii still at 3.4U), but other than that, I haven't seen any issues.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated - hopefully I didn't permanently brick/screw up my wii.
