I think one problem here is that so much parallel work is done and patches from different people for specific problems might not be compatible with each others. After all the patching an avarage wii owner will eventually be totally confused about what is inside his wii.

I've tried to keep my system as "clean" as possible so I only updated to 4.1E with softmods without preloader, NeoGamma and Softchip. I don't play with wii much so I use only DVDs to run my backups. So far this has been OK, the only disk that I've not dared to put into my wii is my original RB2 (from USA, Euro version is just coming). Original disk is however needed for playing for instance RawkSD customs. Yes I know, other possibility would be cioscorp but I don't want to take any risk for messing things up just for RawkSD.

You're not telling anything about your system i.e. which mods, backup loader etc. Please be more specific.

I connect my drums to USB port before launching RB. By the time you get to the 'press +' screen the drum light should be on (not flashing) and one of the tiny square leds should also be on, like in wiimote.

Many thanks for this!!

I got it to work for GH 5, RB1, RB Beatles. Do you know of any way to magically make the RB2 instruments work on GH World Tour or GH Van Halen?

Check this out:

I think compatibility has been tested with original disks.

Instruments will work with Rock B2 but not RB1

Here is my senario:

I got RB2 instruments working with RB2 off USBloader gx, but not with beatles RB or RB1.

I can get the instruments to work with beatles when loaded off the disc.

My main concern is getting instruments to work with RB1 loaded off USBLoader.

I have installed cios56, neogamma r14.

RB2 is working by following this:

start the cIOS 222 Installer
7. Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS37 merged with IOS38
8. Wait for download and installation to complete
9. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
10. This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS60 merged with IOS38

I tried setting RB1 to run off ios223 but that didnt work.

Help would be much appreciated!

It's finally working

Hi all!

First I want to say thank you for this forum and this post. This is my first post and I hope it will help someone.

I have a band set from GH: World Tour, and I have a copy of GH: Van Halen, GH: Smash Hits and GH: Metallica. But the problem was, I couldn't use my usb microphone, because NeoGamma was blocking the USB ports or something..
My Wii is 4.0E and I have NeoGamma R7 IOS249 rev14 to start my dvd games with.

I tried many things, first I installed the "Custom IOS37 with IOS36 rev7 dip as IOS249" as told in the first post. That didn't helped anything.

After that I installed the "CIOSCORP 3.5" so I didn't need NeoGamma anymore to start a game. That helped with GH: Metallica and GH: Smash Hits, I could start those from the Disk Channel and than they recognized my mircophone.

But the problem was that I couldn't start Van Halen, the Wii was unable to read the disk from the Disk Channel. I could start the game with NeoGamma, but than the microphone didn't work.

So I decided to install the Hermes' Ios222/223, I followed this tutorial: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register], and guess what, it helped. I could start all the games with NeoGamma and they all recognized my USB microphone.

Conclusion: I think that the Hermes' Ios222/223 did the trick. So maybe it will help for some of u.

Sorry for my bad english
