The Wii should be actually outputting 480i when you set it because, being a raw analog video signal, there's no communication between the Wii and the TV regarding what the TV is currently or is able to display.

In other words, analog video is only ever transmitted in one direction.

Well, all I know is when using my component cables my TV always says 480p even if I set the Wii to display in 480i. So it's probably just my TV being confused as to what signal it's getting. If I use normal AV cables and put the TV on AUX instead of COMP then it shows 480i.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

Or maybe your TV is a derp in that it ALWAYS says 480p for component? You could try hooking your Wii U up via component and find out if you care enough.

Probably my TV, like I said. I'll try it with my Wii U later and see.

to answer your guys' question, if you have composite cables (red/white/yellow) it auto shows in 480i and you cannot change the hd settings in the wiimenu and you have to turn on widescreen. when you plug in component (red/green/blue/red/white) it auto starts in 480i (maybe p?) but you still needed to change the hd settings and the screen did its reset when i did.
i know this because i finally got my hd cables in the mail today.

as for my issues.. i ripped a copy of fzero to try maybe a different game. i first tried the basic loader and still same issues. it loads up, tells me to press x for virtual memory card. my game file shows up and when i select it it goes blank and the lights do its sequence. i put the game in and it sounded like it was loading then it spit it out but the screen stayed blank and nothing. i tried this with my star wars game and same thing.
    usb/games/fzero game.iso

when i tried to load it with usbloader gx, i renamed the path to usb/gamecube/gfze01/game.iso and nothing happens. i do all the settings correctly and im assuming in the usbloader menu it should list x amount of games? it still says 0 on mine. do i need to click on mount image on the upper right? or the + symbol? in the PATHSMENU for main gamecube path mine is listed as usb1://games/

i even tried usb/games/gfze01/game.iso and nothing changed within with main usbloadergx menu. i also went ahead and went over to the dios mios link and grabbed that wad while on ios236 and installed it and nothing different happened. so finally as a last resort i burned the fzero image on dvd and tried it on neogamma and it read the game but as it tried to load it i got an error.

i am also using a 16gb sandisk 'cruzer glide' usb # sdc260-016g stick that was formated fat32 and 32k something something. i did the text test in the diy and it came out correct.

For USB Loader GX, did you click the filter button and check the box next to GameCube?

Would you mind uploading a picture of your folder structure? Also, are any of these discs you're trying to verify scratched or damaged in some way? Have you ever had any disc read problems?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to cover all the bases. If you've followed my guide and advice so far I'm stumped, so I'd like to help figure out just what's wrong.

Also, any details you can provide about your USB drive including format info would be helpful as well. I'd also like any info you can include about the loader you're trying to use such as revision and which IOS the loader is set to use. I know you've mentioned trying the basic loader, CFG loader and USB Loader GX, but let's try one at a time, pick the one you most want to use and we'll go with that for now.

If there's any other info you feel may be helpful to provide feel free to include that as well.

discs are scratch free. and verified working before i started modding. as for usb stick info i posted the model# above. i used the stickied FAT32 format diy successfully. so far i only tried basic and usbloadergx so which ever versions are in the downloads on the diy are the ones i have, but i will verify too. the iso is 236.

usb>//games/game.iso that is the current structure.

Ok. Just wanted to make sure. If you're using the USB Loader GX from my attachment in post 1 then it should load the games no problem. I will get back to you tomorrow with some trouble shooting steps after taking another look at the info you've given so far. Hopefully I can help you get it working.

I seem to recall you mentioning having given Dios Mios a try as well with similar results of not being able to see the GC games with USB Loader GX. Regardless, I will look over what's been stated so far and see if I can think of something.
