You can also find the GameID for your ISOs via the Dolphin emulator. Just add the folder path to the file browser via "Config" -> "Paths" tab. Then right click a game on the list, "Properties", then "Info" tab.

Uh, you do realize that the HBC/bootmii installer contains an option to prepare an SD card which will recreate those files...

Yes, but it doesn't reproduce the NAND which is backed up along with those files. They're very small so it's not trouble keeping them.

About GameIDs, GameTDB had this info for Wii GameIDs , I imagine GC games follow a similar formula:

The game ID is an identification code contained in games. For the Wii it is 6 characters long: name (3 characters), region (1 character, P for PAL, E for USA, J for Japan, K for Korea, W for Taiwan), Publisher (2 characters).

also for my SD card itself what files should actually stay on the root of it? apps and wads folder only correct? i got lots of readme.texts and other misc things from other files ive unzipped to get to where i am now. can i ask other questions not related to this thread here just for the sake of not spamming new questions under each topic? i want to know why my hbc browser fails to load and once it does and i install a opera, how well does it stream videos from misc sites?

Devolution does not need any wads, it only needs the app located at sd:\\apps\gc_devo, or usb:\\apps\gc_devo if you put the loader on your USB drive. Note that if your games are on USB then usb:\\apps\gc_devo will automatically be created even if the loader itself is on your SD card; this is for storing the verification files and/or the emulated memory card.

EDIT: And obviously you're going to need sd:\\games\ and/or usb:\\games\ if you plan on playing anything.

The readmes are normal, I have several as well simply cause I never bothered to delete them. As stated by Nintendo Maniac 64, all you need for Devolution is the boot.dol (if using the basic loader) or the loader.bin (if integrating it with one of the other 3 featured loaders). The apps folder must stay in the root or HBC won't see your apps, wads I'm not sure about...best to keep that in the root as well.

Basically, if your sd cards root looks a bit cluttered that's not a issue. You can delete the readme files if you're done with them to clear space. If you see any folders that are empty you should be able to delete those too but if one of your apps requires them they will just come back again anyway.

Opera isn't good for streaming videos. Even YouTube looks bad and runs sluggish (or it did for me anyway). Music is ok if you can find a site the opera browser will play from. As for the Homebrew Browser, make sure you've got the latest version. There was one not long ago that had the issue you're describing so you might have a bad DL.

My TV displays 480p at all times, even if I tell the game not to display in progressive the TV still shows the signal output as 480p.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

    lolwut.

You're not on a Wii U, right? It's very possible that your TV is just a derp in that it thinks component always equals progressive scan (it doesn't, I have a DVD player that always resets to 480i even on component).

Nope. Just my old Wii hooked up via component cables. It's probably my TV just being confused but it's the only one I have so I can't say for sure.

One of the easiest ways to see if your TV is a derp is to just go into the Wii Menu settings and select 480i from there since the Wii Menu can run in either 480i or 480p.

Still shows 480p. I think it's just my TVs COMP channel will only show as 480p...whether it's actually displaying in that or just saying it is, I don't know.
