Anyway, I read somewhere on a forum recently (no idea where though) that Devolution actually supports running all games in 480p. Confirm/deny anyone? (I believe my Wii's component output is fried so I cannot test it)

I've always used component cables with my Wii and never had any visual issues with Devolution. I had my Wii set to 480p HDTV.

I already know that Devolution can handle 480p; I was more interested in what resolution Devolution runs at for games that only ran at 480i on the GameCube.

You know how on GameCube games you can hold B at startup to enable progressive scan mode (480p, I'm assuming), does the force widescreen or another option in CFG Loader do this, or is the only way to do this to use the B at startup trick?

    Thanks.

Holding B just enables the game's built-in progressive scan mode; I'm interested in games that didn't natively support it like TimeSplitters 2.

Also the force widescreen has nothing to do with progressive scan.

I see. Just so you know, I wasn't asking in order to help you...don't know the answer to your question. I was just trying to find out if I could enable 480p play without holding down B at startup, hah.

I can't tell you because I've never actually used progressive scan before. :P

I'm pretty sure that Devolution, regardless of whether it's the basic loader or the loader.bin used with GX, CFG or Flow, automatically does the "hold B for progressive" deal for you. At least it always has for me. I've never once had to hold the B button when loading via Devolution, it also just automatically comes up with the "this game can be played in progressive scan" option.

Yeah, I never had to hold B for progressive scan titles. It's automatic for me too.

I never had had a gamecube so I didn't even know about that.

I thought the Wii did that, not Devolution. Then again, Devolution would have to implement it too, so yeah.

So uh, SNES_Master, do all of the GC games you own officially support progressive scan or something?
