My Wii's first 6 serial digits aren't list there, only the first 4. My Wii was in the first shipment back in 2006 to the US.

    Edit: There are pages

    So I need a GC2-DMS.

Edit 2: So something like this work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-NIN...item4d0f974c7b

You can get a replacement drive for your wii cheaper than buying a console. If you bought a console replacement why not just use it instead of swapping the drive. Try amazon or eBay and you can get a drive for around $30, they are pretty easy to swap out. I recovered my wii this way.

You could also give dios mios a try since there is no need to verify discs when using it.

Well doesn't my Wii need to have the correct drive? Using the link with my serial it says my Wii has a GC2-DMS. Do I need to replace it with the same type of drive then?

http://www.wiidrives.com/identify?serial=lu1036 One of the first shipments of the Wii to the US

Also I inserted a Wii disk this morning and it read it perfectly fine no noise what so ever. However, when I inserted a GC disk to try it the noise started up and then it wouldn't read Wii disks after that. I'm thinking it just has something to do with GC disks now. Maybe I just need to bend that piece of metal or something.

It is, same thing mine did. It's because the arm that spins the disc sits in a different spot when play a GC disc than it does with Wii discs, that's why you only have the issue on GC games.

Ah so it adjusts the arm for GC disks and then it fails. So then when I reinsert the Wii disk directly after the GC disk it just has a problem reseting the arm or something. Well it looks like this is fixable. I'll take apart my Wii later today and report back.

I would link you the YouTube video showcasing the issue, explaining why its happening and telling how to fix it but 1) I can't find it now lol and 2) we don't allow outside links.

But you can just google "wii loud disc drive" and one sure you will turn up some info.

So just to make sure. The hitting of the arm can/would send the error message to the screen about ejecting the disk and rebooting the Wii?
