Does this mean that you can play GC games on a WiiU, in Wii mode, with a Wii remote? Or is it still impossible to play the games since there's no GC remote ports?
Maybe there's a usb GC remote on amazon lol

The wii classic controller becomes the NGC controller.

Yes, you can play GC games on Wii U in Wii mode. You'll need a classic controller, classic controller pro, Wii U pro controller or a Playstation 3 controller to control the games.

I have not yet tried it myself which is why I haven't detailed the process but all you really need to do is verify the games on your old GC Wii, then try loading the game on your Wii U (using the same USB device and same WiiMote...maybe the same SD card as well, I'm not sure) once the disc drive starts blinking just sync your WiiMote to the Wii U and the game should work afterwords without needing this to be done again.

Edit: though I do have a Wii U to try this with I haven't yet decided on soft modding it. I'm very paranoid about nintendo's frequent updates killing it and $350+ tax is too much to throw away.

Would Nintendo's possible update, update the wii part of the WiiU, an brick only the Wii mode? Or do you think the entire WiiU would be screwed up?
I thought the Wii mode was separate. Updating the WiiU is separate from the Wii mode right?

Just out of curiosity, how do you connect a PlayStation 3 controller to a Wii U?

USB, you press the PS button to activate the controller then you press R1 and L1 to write the Wii's Bluetooth address to the controller, after that you can use it wirelessly.

Does that trick work on the normal Wii also? If that's true, then someone made an amazing discovery. Some ppl wouldn't even have to buy classic controllers. In fact, this is better than the classic for one reason: No Wii remote that you gotta drag around with you.

Yes, you can use a PS3 controller on the old wii as well. You can also use a Wii U ProCon on the old Wii, you just have to wait till you load the game so you can sync it.
