    Holy crap.

    It happened.

    IT FREAKIN HAPPENED.

    What happened?

CLASSIC CONTROLLER SUPPORT AND WII U PRO CONTROLLER SUPPORT

Looks like Crediar has awoken a sleeping giant.

More specifically, r200 just released today, and it's very worthy of it's r2xx number.

Updating guide...TONIGHT! Been waiting for this since I discovered Devolution (also its funny my guess of CC and ProCon being added to r200 was correct )

    Thanks for the news

So I need to ask before I start doing anything with this such as hacking my Wii U's vWii....how do I verify the games on Wii U?

There's a readme in the download that explains that. However, at least on a Family Wii, using a 3-inch disc expander should work as well. (unknown for Wii U)

Also it's isn't clear if the Wii U pro controller is supported on a normal Wii or just on a Wii U.

That's alright, well just to clear this up for me. Can I verify my games on my old Wii, plug the HDD into the Wii U and it would work? The reason I ask is I don't have and cannot seem to find a "3-inch disc expander" so if I could verify them on the old Wii and carry the verification over somehow that would be perfect.

Err, the 3-inch disc expander is the unofficial way and is not mentioned in the readme. You DID read the readme, right? :P

EDIT: and regarding disc expanders, to quote myself from GBATemp:

I personally found more results by searching for '3 inch cd adapter' or '3 inch dvd adapter'

EDIT: found one that's supposedly in stock by VenMill - listed from cheapest to most expensive:
    http://www.venmill.com/3-Inch-Disc-Adapter_p_1751.html
    http://store.cdtagandstorage.com/3inchadapter.aspx
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ZL9434

Note that in the VenMill Amazon link that GameCube discs are even mentioned in the description (though only referring to disc repair). It's my understanding that VenMill makes some sort of disc repair device, so they've made an adapter for their own product that may just happen to work with others.

However the VenMill adapter is supposedly a bit different so it's unknown if it'd even physically fit.
Also you can find them via used singles on Ebay:

Yeah I just read it...sounds like the games verification is paired with (and possibly stored in) the WiiMote. This is interesting, but what's more interesting is that my idea won't work. If I verify them on my old Wii my Wii U will still need to re-verify them. That's a bit of a hassle. So I'll have to look into alternative ways of verifying the games on Wii U, including the disc expander thing.

Well if you do go the disc-expander route, please be sure to share your results if it works or not! Nobody has ever tried it on a Wii U w/ Devolution, only on a stock Wii U (which physically accepted the disc but doesn't seem to do anything with it unlike the Family Wii which can actually launch a GC game from the system menu with said adapter)

No problem. I've got some things to do today but rest assured I will be updating the guide tonight. Not necessarily with instructions on using it on a vWii (not sure if I'll get into modding my Wii U tonight) but I will update the attachments and directions to accommodate for this wonderful, much needed update.

Edit: and now, I'm off to pick up a Wii U ProCon....not happy it costs $50 > but I guess it's worth it....on second thought, I think I'll test my Xbox 360 controller first and if it doesn't work then I'll pick up a ProCon. Lol, lots of testing to do with this new update

Edit 2: with all the new button combos added to r200 this rewrite will be...complicated lol. But I'll get it done.

Edit 3: a quick note, the games still verify to the USB hard drive.

Apparently the Pro controller DOES work in Devolution on a normal Wii. Also note that, by default, A & B are mapped to B & Y, though there is a setting to change that. Note that this A/B=>B/Y also applies to the sample loader idiotically enough, so to load from USB you have to press X, not Y.

That is good to know, 80hrs of battery life and I like the Xbox knockoff design lol. I'll be getting mine soon since my real 360 controller doesn't appear to work (wasn't really expecting it would, just hoping...maybe someday though).

As for this major update its going it be a lot of fun playing with these new features (so far my fav, aside from CC support, is being able to exit to the HBC with a tap of the power button on the remote now...no more getting up to switch apps lol)
