What details about the HDD can you offer besides the size? It's possible it's not compatible, a quick way to tell would be to try using a different USB device instead.

Have you tried r169? There have been people with the exact same issue but using the older r169 fixed it.

I think I'll be adding an alternative method for ripping games; ie via the USB loaders themselves. I think the community will appreciate the option. Just one more thing to the list of improvements I'm planning for the guide.

So I go to open usbloader_gx from the homebrew channel and try to access a GC game and when I crank it up, I get a blank screen... no blinking led or anything. It actually freezes, and I have to do a hard restart by getting up and holding the power button to turn it off. I have force NTSC on for my region. I have seen "loader.bin" mentioned, but I didn't see such a file packaged with devolution.

Did you download my USB Loader GX attachment on page 1?

Have you tried using the sample loader for Devolution? To quote myself...

If you can get that working, then we can deal with your USB Loader GX issues.

ahhh ok I just did... found everything... same result though... I changed the devo loader directory to the usbloader_gx folder where I have loader.bin at. My Wii sometimes just crashes for unknown reasons. maybe this is just one of its quirks.
