The attachments for CFG Loader, WiiFlow and USB Loader GX all have the loader.bin in them, I did it this way so people can download only the loader they want to use.

The attachment for the Basic Loader, however, does not include it because it is not needed for the basic loader.

    In About Devolution,

if you finish playing a game but you want to do something else with the system such as watch a movie on Netflix or browse the web with the Opera Channel, you don't have to turn the system off and back on. Just give the power button a quick tap and, depending on how you loaded Devolution, you'll be returned to the Homebrew Channel, your USB loader or the Wii menu.

Which settings can you change this (preferably for USB Loader GX)?

    Verifying & Playing Your Games:
Im trying to do this step with Tales of Symphonia and the game has 2 disks. I am able to verify the first disk at game startup (like normal games), but whenever it comes to the screen to "take out disk 1 and put in disk 2", i insert disk 2 into the wii but nothing happens. So i press the eject button and message changes to "insert disk 2" and insert disk 2 again but nothing happens.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: nvm I got disk 2 working. I didnt need to verify disk 2 at all. In order to play disc 2, all i had to do was go into my USB's folder and rename it to disc2.iso just like how DiosMios does it for multi-disk games. Then in the game when it asks me to swap disc 1 with disc 2, i just pressed eject and Devolution took care of the rest. =D

That cannot be changed, it is automatic. If you load Devolution from the HBC then tapping Power on the system should return you to the HBC, if you load Devolution via a forwarder channel on the Wii menu (ie USB Loader GXs forwarder)byou should be returned to the Wii menu.

Being returned to the USB loader, in my experience, has only worked when I loaded the basic loader from USB Loader GXs Homebrew launcher and set the "return to" setting to "return to USB Loader GX".

Thank you very much for this info, I have not been able to get my hands on a 2 disc game (I once borrowed Tales of Symphonia from a friend but I did not keep the ripped ISO and never made it far enough to try loading the second disc) I will add this to the guide

Just a heads up, supposedly USB Loader GX r1211 contains a built-in option to enable Devolution r188's widescreen-hack setting. I myself use GX but am still on r1209, so I'll definitely be testing this out once I get around to updating to r1211 (though I play on a non-widescreen SDTV, so it'll be purely for amusement).

Thank you for letting me know. I actually have known about r1211 for around a week but I've been sick all week so didn't get to update the guide yet.

Have any stability issues been discovered in Devolution r188? I thought you said some people were having HDD issues with it so I was wondering if that's been addressed or not.

Devolution has not been updated at all since said r188 release. You can see this for yourself by downloading it from http://www.tueidj.net/gc_devo.zip and looking at the file's modified date. (note that as of this post tueidj.net seems to be having connection issues, so perhaps remind yourself to do this later)

EDIT: tueidj.net it back up now so you can look at what I was referring to.

Also I can confirm that the widescreen hack does indeed work in USB Loader GX r1211 - interestingly enough on a non-widescreen TV only the 3D elements look squished with the 2D textures looking perfectly normal, which makes sense considering this is essentually what Devolution's widescreen hack is.

Lastly, it turns out that you can use the DiscEx ISO trimmer/compressor originally designed for DiosMios with some games in Devolution. In particular, Nintendo Puzzle Collection works just fine with DiscEx compression in Devolution and trims the ISO to just 150MB!

EDIT 2: Oh, and I noticed you don't have a link to the Devolution game-compatibility wiki in the opening post. Perhaps you don't have the link? Here it is if you need it:

Yes thank you...I had actually forgotten where the compatibility list was lol. I will be making some updates to the guide this week.

Thanks for all the help, being a frequent GBAtemp member you get the Devolution info much sooner than me so I appreciate you popping over here to let me know

Lol, well from what I just read over there and on teudj's YouTube video called "DevolUtion?", it sounds like teudj has already gotten Wii/Wii U controllers (and PS3 controllers he said too) fully functional already. So, is there any word on why he hasn't yet publicly released Devolution with support for those alternate controllers? I'm sure the entire Wii community is foaming at the mouth waiting for it, I know I am (I seriously want to hack my Wii U's vWii and retire the old Wii...less stuff to hook up) but can't/won't until my Wii U can (safely) do everything my Wii can.

(By safely I mean there's still the fact I fear a forced update could detect my Wii U's vWii being hacked and somehow kill the system)
