SNES_Master, would you happen to have a copy of r169 still? We've discovered a regression in r188 that causes some HDDs to not mount and we want to investigate it more.

Yup, all the attachments in this guide are for 169 as I didn't not yet have a chance to update them to 188 (despite using 188 on my SD )

Edit: In case it makes any difference to your tests I've been using 188 for a couple weeks and it has 0 issues with my 640gb Seagate FreeAgent Go-Flex

It seems to only be specific drives, since only a few users have reported issues. However, they all said r169 worked just fine. This seems very much like a regression to me and therefore really should be reported. I came up with a "scheme" on how we could theoretically get this fixed in record time and posted the idea GBATemp:

You wouldn't happen to own a copy of PSO, would you? This is something we really should report since it's clearly a regression, but tueidj only quickly responds on that previously mentioned PSO forum (LINK).

So the idea is, if we specifically use PSO as a "guinea pig" for the bug report, combine it with two wifi logs of launching PSO on both r169 and r188, and then post everything on that PSO forum, we should theoretically get tueidj to make a fix in record time.
The thing is, I currently haven't found anyone with both the r188 hard drive issue and a copy of PSO.

I definitely plan on using an emulated memory card. I am going to try out this guide as soon as I get a chance.

Is there any way currently to take your emulated memory card and write your saves back to a real memory card?

I believe the app used for making memory card dumps can also write said dumps back to a memory card. However, I've never tried it before. That being said, if it DOES work, it most likely will require save dumps being renamed back to a .RAW file.

Yes, rename memcard.bin back to a .raw file, then use Dolphin on your PC to extract the .gci saves from the raw. Afterwards you can use GCMM to "install" the GCI saves to the real card.

So GCMM cannot import a RAW dump directly? I've never used it for anything other than extracting saves, so I've no idea...

Hmm, that's a good question. I might be able to, I've always just done it as GCI files...I'll look into that later.

One minor thing on the guide I just noticed using USB loader Gx.

You say to check the credits and you will see your Devolution Revision # in the top left. I was confused when I did not see it. You will not see it until after you set the custom path telling it where to find the loader.bin file which is not done until later in the intructions.

I will post a few more thoughts on the guide when I finish it.

Thank you, I was not aware that the correct path needed to specified before the revision # shows in the credits...it does make sense though. I will edit the guide next chance I have.
