Understood. In this case nothing needed to change b/c the base dir stayed the same. I'll be back for more in the morning.

Honestly easeUS has failed me twice in setting the cluster size automatically. I've always made sure to do it manually since.

That was not in reference to what u said it was in reference to if u can check the cluster size after it has been set.

There is a small miunderstanding in the guide the fat 32 guide is seperate to this and i don't think that it will automatically set it to 32kb clusters, this must be set manually the reason in the fat32 guide it states that is that it sets it automatically because that setting was originally fine for the setup in conjunction with the any wii guide before usb loading of dios mios was available.

thanks for bringing this to my attention I will alter the guide to reflect this, this is also probably 661's issue

    How-2 check your cluster size

Checked my cluster size with 'chkdsk'. Note the entry, "65,536 bytes in each allocation unit." My cluster size is 64k. Going to test now to make sure no other issues are lurking about.

    C:\Windows\system32>e:

    E:\>chkdsk
The type of the file system is FAT32.
Volume WII created 9/11/2012 5:05 PM
    Volume Serial Number is 18F1-3FDE
Windows is verifying files and folders...
File and folder verification is complete.
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.
    488,316,288 KB total disk space.
192 KB in 3 hidden files.
    15,872 KB in 248 folders.
    286,165,056 KB in 1,733 files.
    202,135,104 KB are available.

65,536 bytes in each allocation unit.
7,629,942 total allocation units on disk.
3,158,361 allocation units available on disk.

Sorry thought it was my post you was referring to. At least we now know what the issue is.

My test failed with great precision. My HDD formatted for 32kb cluster size contains only this:

    E:\>dir /s /b
    E:\apps
    E:\games
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\icon.png
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\meta.xml
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\GXGlobal.cfg
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\GameTimestamps.txt
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\GXGameStatistics.cfg
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\TitlesCache.bin
    E:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol
    E:\games\GZLE01
    E:\games\GZLE01\GZLE01.ISO

The boot.dol is r1208. When I sub in r1180 it wants to copy to SD. When running the game it either crashes and shuts down the wii or I get "app-entry is not within the apploader area" from dios mios.

Delete everything in the GX folder and load the r1208 again (do this for SD as well if you have it on there). If it doesn't work, we should have a look at your syscheck.

Okay. Nothing on the disk but the game and r1208 boot.dol for ios249. Going in thru hbc so no forwarder/channel in the picture and no sd card. All default settings for the loader and that should be sufficient. Now I get "fatal error apploader size is zero!" from dios mios.

There might be an issue with the iso. Rip the game again with GX.

I've ripped that sucker about a dozen times. lol I'm beginning to suspect a compatibility problem between dm2.6 and gxr1208. Either that or it doesn't like the way gx rips the iso. Can anyone confirm they have this working with a usbloadergx r1208 ripped iso and dios mios v2.6?
